Yes, There’s an “I” in “Team.”

People are found of quipping that there is no “I” in “T.E.A.M.” There it is, right there.

Teamwork, I’ve observed, has accumulated baggage definitions in recent years, mutating into an attitude that if everyone doesn’t do an equal amount of work, then no one will initiate. But willingness to initiate is paramount to cooperative endeavors. Members of a true team each equally initiate what needs to happen, regardless of if the other members do an equal amount.

Observe a flock of birds, school of fish, pack of wolves, when one perceives the need for a directional change, they do, and the rest of the team converges.

The ones who’re crazy enough to think that they can initiate change are the only ones who do. Don’t wait. Be the “I” in Initiate.
