Who is Family? Who are the Legion?
October 8, 2012 – 11:22 am
When others hear us use the word “legion” to refer to our community, we are often misunderstood to be an army of chiseled 300 warriors. As you can see, older people and children, are part of our family. So what does legion mean?
Originally, it began as a salutation between Alberto Gallazzi and I by email, as a result of our commitment to working toward our collective goal though thousands of kilo
meters separated our individual efforts. We believed we were brothers in a cause stronger than blood: helping protecting those who protect us, helping those who want to help others, and helping those who, from sacrifice or tragedy, cannot help themselves alone. No matter who we help, we believe them to be part of our family which rises above any national or cultural differences.
Both of us students of ancient military history, we also refer to the Roman legion. The word legion derives from the Latin root, “legere” which means to choose. Those who choose to lead not by preaching rhetoric on their own interests, but from the front by example for the sake of others welfare, for the men, women and children to their right and to their left are “Legion” to us.
We are a family. When we train together, our sweat becomes our blood. We learn to trust each other watching to make sure we are honest with our technique, support us and motivate us to work harder when our technique can hold more effort, and take care of us by reminding us that our preparation and our compensation are the most important part of our workouts. When we train and eat together, we use our positive pressure to help each other realize our individual goals, and as a result we grow stronger together. With each new member of our family, every member of the family grows stronger.
As Legion, we choose to be a deliberate, conscious family.

Plan to being your family to have fun, fitness and fraternity with our families next year at the 2013 TACFIT Capri International bootcamp end of September. Vacation packages will be announced soon with deep discounts arranged by the city for your stay.
very respectfully,
