Scott, I've bought your WW tapes, Maximology and CB's and been very happy with them.

I have been studying BJJ for about 3 years now. I also have a black belt in TKD. I've read a lot of posts here and on DD about your tapes on martial arts training. What series of tapes would you suggest I start with for an introduction to your fighting coaching?

Thanks in advance

James

James,

See if there is a ROSS training group in your area, if there is, go work out with them a few times, I guarantee you won't regret it.

I have a blast every time I get to train with Stephen Ward and Morgan Stern.

An additional benny is that you have some fellow 'crazies' to share experiences with.

Good luck,

Rufus

Just a quick update..I received the tapes and have watched the first three. I have a BJJ partner who has a habit of balling up in the quarter position and sometimes in the fetal postion to rest. He's a big guy, about 210 and in strict BJJ environment it's hard to find a submission on him when he's playing total defense. In the arthrokinetics tape Scott demonstrates a knee on belly technique to use when your opponent is on their side (fetal). This morning I came in determined to get him out of his resting position. I grabbed his lapel at the shoulder and his pants by the knee and ground my knee into his short ribs. Instant reaction. He immediately got out of his comfortable position and into something I could work with. I thought it was a great success. I've been fighting with him in that position for weeks.

By the way, I appreciate the review on fisticuffs that explained that Scott was wearing a Spetznaz striped t-shirt. I couldn't figure out what the hell that outfit was all about in Arthrokinetics and I found it a bit troubling...

Thanks for the advice on these tapes.

Yeah, I love the Knee-On-Body position too! I learned about it a few years back from my BJJ coach.

There's a LOT of ways to attack from it, and when passing the guard it's one of the easiest dominant positions for me to get into.

There's a lot of ways out (I know 6 that are pretty consistent), but it really sucks being on the bottom of that. What are your experiences with this so far?
