View Full Version : Clubbell Seminar at Maxercise last night

Wanted to thank Doug for the excellent seminar at maxercise last night. :D

We had total beginners to fairly advanced users. I should qualify that "fairly advanced" by saying that I learned enough last night to go back and reconstruct my form on all but the most basic drills.

Doug brought along some guy named Sonnon - an added treat. Scott mostly observed but jumped in to give pointers on a one on one basis. 8)

Steve Maxwell and I took privates and suffice to say if the Doug show hits your town - go for it.

Maxwell and I were also succesful in forcing Doug to sell us the Bruisers he brought on the spot. After playing with those it was a "must own now" kind of thing. The bruisers as Doug said "can not be lied to". I may be strong enough to muscle the 25 but the Bruiser requires perfect form.

Doug did a double parry cast with 2 Bruisers just to be a bad ass.

A great night enjoyed by all.

It was a great time. Coach Szolek did a great job of explaining everything from the basics through some of the more "fun" two handed ABC exercises. I learned a lot and now will return to the short bus to work on my technique and my quad hops.

I would encourage anyone who gets the chance to attend a seminar if you can. The books and videos can only do so much and the one on one was extremely helpful.

Thanks Coaches Szolek and Sonnon and to Bill Fox and Steve Maxwell for making it happen. It was great meeting all of you and putting faces with some of the names here on the forum.

Anybody else a little sore this morning?

I would like to add my thanks to Bill for hosting this event and to Coaches Doug and Scott for your expertise, attention to detail and for graciously accommodating everyone's skill level and rehab modifications.

Since I am still healing a shoulder injury, I came expecting just to observe. What I got was personal attention and some great modifications to the Body Flow movements from Scott, and Doug made me feel completely comfortable doing as much as I could do with the CB's.
Four hours of simple, sophisticated fun. Thanks again.

Fun is sacred.

ABN

My tris are smoked - which Coach Sonnon pointed out was the perfect compliment to the KB swings and snatches I like.

It's my obliques that are feeling it the most. I take that to be a good thing.

Congratulations to Doug for an excellent job. I appeared to evaluate Doug, and despite the additional pressure of my scrutiny, he coached a superlative seminar.

A BIG thanks to Bill Fox for his organizing and facilitating Doug's event. People don't appreciate the thankless amount of work which makes events happen.

Additional thanks to Steve and DC Maxwell for their hospitality and providing their outstanding facility for Doug's seminar. Great athletes and teachers, but great friends, as well.

It was a pleasure to finally meet you all! I look forward to the next time!

Mostly lats and hip flexors- very worthwhile.
Thanks to Doug and Scott and those who mocked me when I set the trend by picking up the 10lb.
