I'm trying to give a co-worker some direction and options for relieveing some sudden lower back tension. From what I felt and what she described, it seems that her psoas muscles are in spasm. They are rock hard and now the stiffness is travelling upward into her neck.
She has an appointment with a massage therapist on Thursday, but from my personal experience, I will be surprised if that one appointment will do the trick. She is getting married this Saturday, so I was hoping someone would have ideas for movements she could do to keep the area from freezing entirely.
Thanks in advance.

Munson,
Perhaps you can suggest your friend to go to see a medical professional or see several health care professionals to receive different opinions so that your friend can be informed, get the correct diagnosis and treatment. After her condition has been established along with the proper care, then maybe you can then introduce her to our health and fitness system? I wish your friend a fast and safe recovery.

Thanks, Bao. I think she is already taking that route, but I will pass along the recommendation. I wasn't looking to give her health advice instead of seeing a doctor. I just remember having a similar thing happen to me and the MD's solution was muscle relaxants. I was just hoping there would be additional mild movements she could do in addition to seeing her doctor. She is already walking as much as she can (which is recommended), but she has to sit in front of a computer for her job which definitely does not help.

Munson,
I wish I had digital Cam to show you my the counter conditioning kinetic chain that I am developing for office people. So far my clients who spend 8-12 hrs in the office have loved my kinetic chains that I made for them. This still R&D for me. Do help your friend and I hope she will recover soon.

There were two things that immediately crossed my mind: catching a fly with the chopsticks (ala Karate Kid) and sushi...I guess I will have to wait for now.
btw, you can call me Tariq.
Regards.
