I've posted before that I live in a place with low ceilings so clubbells may be difficult to use. What if I trained while on my knees, would the exercises used with clubbells still be effective if I did them while on my knees. Obviously squatting would be tough, but what about the other movements?

As for club selection, financially I'm looking for the cheapest route because I live in Canada so the shipping, taxes, duty will be brutal. Originally I was gonna get two 15 lb. clubs, but then I was contemplating getting the 45 lb. club and using the anabolic bruiser conditioning manual. Will the bruiser be too heavy for me though? I only weigh 165 lbs., but I'm pretty strong. I can bench 225 lbs. deadlift 405 lbs. and squat 315 lbs. as for grip strength, I can close the #2 Captain of Crush gripper.

I'm looking to add some functional size to my frame for a judo class I'm taking up!

I never cease to be impressed by peoples ingenuity. Interesting idea!

Some of the standard exercise will prove difficult (eg: high basic arm swing). But that's not to say you can't discover some kind of kneeling variant.

Also you should know there are several exercise that don't require lots of overhead clearance. Eg - wrist cast, clean to order, preswing clean (to order), head cast, fwd and side leverage etc etc.

Also, you *could* just work outside / in a park like the rest of us without Gothic mansions / high ceilings ;-)

What about Club selection? I have my heart set on getting ABC along with one clubbell, the two handed exercises with one club should suit my goals perfectly! I'm leaning towards using a heavy one and have no problems accepting that I may only be able to do a few reps with it. But IMO, at least with a heavier club I can still improve on it.

I plan on doing some outdoor stuff just as soon as the weather improves. We actually got some rare snowfall here in Vancouver.

Hi, Mike, this is Lew from New Westminster. I have my 15 lbers now. Sorry it took so long to get back to you, but i was on vacation, and no email... but you are still welcome to come and check out my clubbells and see how they are to handle. I can do all the exercises in my workout room, but i am short (5'5"). However, what you could do is try mine out, see how they are, and look for clearance. Also, if you do get bells, you could get some dowling at home depot, cut it to the same lengths and try any exercise slow motion, and see if you touch the ceiling at your place (bear in mind that some of the exercises that are explosive as opposed to grinds, may throw the clubbell a bit further by pulling you higher on your toes.) Anyway, I love my 15's, but I am not really after hypertropy, and am more interested in functional strength/power endurance, so my needs may differ from yours. Call me at 604-522-2807, if you want to meet. Lew

You could do ABC Gamma cast, Barbarians, Squats with a heavy CB in flag or middle guard position.

...and the Hydra, which seems to be one of the most fundamental Clubbell drills. (Not shown on the CSFCS tape, but on the Maximology series).

I already bought the Bruiser and ABC. I like the idea of doing the two handed exercises!

Are you loving the snow or what? Man it's cold!
