This is a great workout with a barbell used by shot put champions in Russia.

I really like it and saw a great increase in punching power. My question is how can CST be appllied to develop and sophiscated it? There's the comfort, effort, and technique way to go about it. I can see the clubbell as already being a superior training tool than the barbell in this movement.

The article also talks about the rib compression and power generation being almost a secret known to top fighters.

I'd like to hear opinions from you guys. I plan on using this workout to increase my core power with the barbell for now and the clubbel when I can get my hands on it.

When you invest in a heavy Clubbell, you'll be able to perform the Hammer Swing, and other exercises which take the small benefits you can receive from the conventional "Russian twist" and amplify them 100 fold.

Having done both of these exercises over the course of a couple years each, I can certainly attest to that!! :cool:

Not to forget the "sequential summation of movement" advantage with the CB.

One of the things I like about lifting heavy is at first it's so heavy it's scary, and then you can do it.

Well the heavy CB - especially with a hammer swing - is scarier than a barbell in a corner so when you can do it, it's more gratifying. Yah.
