View Full Version : Be breathed and Zdorovye.. Crossover?

Hi, this is my first real post in the main forum, and more of a query than anything else...

In the Zdorovye videos, it's been described as like an encyclopedia (Almost) that "Movement Health" and "Warrior Wellness" are derived from... (Correct me if i'm wrong here! But this is what i've picked up from reading everything i can about these programs/tapes/things)

And well.... i can never, never leave any program alone without modifying it or creating my own, so to possibly save some money (I am a student after all....), i was just wondering if the "Be Breathed" material is also derived from the Zdorovye system, but just with a few extra methods of getting the performance breathing down....

So, would i be best getting the Zdorovye system and getting say... leg fencing for example... Or would i be best getting Zdorovye and be breathed? (Or maybe that package with them all in... Movement health, warrior wellness etc... But as i said, i tinker too much, doesn't really seem worth it....)

Sorry if i seem abit cautious or too reliant on others opinions, but although i have "body flow" the book, and can see what Scott offers is quite different to ANYTHING else i have seen, so i'm gonna be getting it.... But i'm a student! This is spending hard earned cash! I just want to be sure that there isn't too much of an overlap between Zdorovye and Be Breathed...

Matt Lane...

Thanks, in advance!

Dykhaniye is the mother of "Be Breathed". If you are into to "creativing your own thing" and money is an issue, then maybe you should get the three Zdorovye tapes and piece together your own thing. I'd still get the bodyflow book. Later, if you want to focus more on the breathing and core activation then you can purchase "Be Breathed". Later, if you want more movement info, you can get the Maximology/bodyflow series.

Matt,

If money is a serious consideration (starving student and all), you might just want to methodically read through the archives on the Clubbell page (http://www.circularstrengthtraining.com/cbarticles.html) and CST mag back issues. Much of what Coach Sonnon teaches is given out very freely here on the net and a careful read could piece a lot of it together for anyone. And the articles by others in the mag will help drive the points home in more personal ways.

Coach Sonnon's stuff is different from anything else out there, but much of that is because so much that is presented as fitness or health advice is just dumbed-down bits and pieces of a pathwork approach. CST and ROSS present a complete and comprehensive body of knowledge that, once you start to 'get it', allows you to 'go your own way' or 'do your own thing' or 'roll your own exercises' for the rest of your life. Think 'learning to fish' rather than 'eat as many fish as I can get my hands on', which was my initial approach to it all.

Hope this helps. Good luck in your explorations.

Damn my internet is slow tonight, and my fingers are cold, so apologies for any bad typing!

Anyway, although money for me is fairly tight, i am waaaay better off than most students (I'm rather good at NOT spending money, unless i'm dead certain it'll be of use.... or able to be eaten and fill my belly  )... So i can probably get the Zdorovye stuff without any real problems, and maybe Leg fencing to go with (to help with wing chun, we never do any proper leg work, so i dont really have a clue...) it, but i didn't want to get the entire health system if there is quite abit of crossover....

And, if some of the Zdorovye bits and bobs will take me a while to get practised with (Which it should do... and if it doesn't it just means i'm lucky!) i dont want to be advancing too quickly and miss out the "journey" so to speak... But it sounds like i'll be fine getting just the Zdorovye system ordered to start with, and if i want to get more advanced stuff in various areas, i'll order the other things, hopefully when i'm in a job earning loadsa money!

And i've read everything i can get my eyes lookin at in respect to all of this, and you're right in saying there is alot out there, but there is also from what i gather, an awful lot i'm not seeing... But i'm sooo fed up with everything that can be actually REALLY useful hidden or fobbed off by all the big industry idiots, i'm prepared to pay that bit extra, for that whole lot more....

I may be a student, but i'm no dum-dum when it comes to listening to my body and hearing what it has to say... and it sounds/feels like it wants something new.... I just want to become the animal inside of me.... and hopefully, this might be it to help that!

Once again, I've typed far too much, and some/most of it nonsense....

I should just have probably put "Thank you, you've been very nice and helpful :D i think i'm going to order Zdorovye and play with the things, coz although articles are many and good, i need to see most in action on video!".... But i decided to bitch about the dummy-fitness ppl!

Heh, sorry about the babble, tired and sort of bored....

Thank you anyhow! Alot!
