Hi
Just wanted some feedback regarding the execution of WW and some Intu-flow in the water.
I do them predominantly on land btw!...but other than the balance issue negated, I've found doing the exercises in the pool (5ft) interesting.
Especially hip and knee work has been stimulating.
In addition to standing work I've invented swimming strokes with arm and leg fwd and bckw circular movements.
Fun

It depends upon any pre-existing conditions. The resistance that the viscosity of the water creates can be very taxing, and become a training effect very quickly. If couple with other training, it could push you into overtraining. At the very least, it may no longer be considered "active recovery." Be careful to stick to the Intuitive Training protocol as Rx.

Tim,

As Coach say's, the resistance in water changes the charector of movements from active recovery to resistance training.

With that in mind, I have played with some interesting concepts in the water. I have been practicing egg beater kicks which is a contralateral knee circles. I also like to play patch match and hem with classic swim strokes. I've made up some fun KC's: Side stroke-> breast stroke-> side stroke, crawl-> back->crawl, fly->breast->fly. Another fun drill is to do a modified spinal circle with one arm extended and one armacross the chest.

Water is a fun medium, let us know of any cool KC you come up with.

aqua kinetic chains! now why didnt I think of that. I'll have to give that a try next time I'm in the pool.

I've tried Intu-Flow in the water before and I have to agree it is a very different creature. Every move makes your body want to move in a different direction. Makes it difficult to relaxe into the movements and the pressure from the water makes it slightly more difficult to be breathed by the movements. Is an interesting thing to play with though.

Thanks All
As mentioned, I do the Intu-flow as Rx'd as that IS IntuFlow!
I thought the water(ed down!) version'd be a fun additional twist..which it was.
Why the avoidance of the 'training effect' concern?
Yes egg-beater and all forms of whip and scissors motions in both directions. Water synchro style figure-eight sculling...frwd,,bck, an stomach,back..even upside down.etc provide countless mvts

Tim,

It is not so much as avoidance,as understanding the training effect. Depending on one's fitness level, active recoverey is a different level of work production.

What is the point of Intu-Flow? Is it to bodybuild the connective tissue? Is it to create more power in the joints?

We need to shift out of that old paradigm thinking if you want longevity of joint health. Creating a training effect in the small myofascial structure, like the mentality of bodybuilding and powerlifting, will only lead to the increased accumulation of soft tissue trauma.

The point of Intu-Flow is to wash the connective tissue with nutrition and lubrication, so that you get out of the way of your body's natural healing and rebuilding process. Most people are in a chronic state of starvation because the nutrition they're ingesting is not being shipped out to the connective tissue matrix due to lack of mobility. When you add a training effect you are breaking down the tissue more. No recovery. No rebuilding. No worth. And you mutate the genius of Intu-Flow into just another way of starving and debilitating the body.

When you follow the program as prescribed up through mastery level, you'll discover that it needs no modification, amplification or addition. It is the culmination of ten thousand plus hours of coaching, 9 years of personal practice and thousands of athletes' feedback. Pay attention. There is true, natural magic in there. Less is more.
