View Full Version : focusing on intuflow and prasara
hello all, ive been focusing all of my training on intuflow and prasara based stuff like flowfit and forward pressure, and have been neglecting my clubbell training. My body seems to be evolving at a quicker pace without my clubbell work and as a result has toned up and become amazingly fluid and has helped my other pursuits, ultrarunning, mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, mostly all outdoor sports at almost an exponential rate. I enjoy the intuflow and prasara material so much that i am considering focusing all of my training in that direction and stopping my clubbells completely.
I want to know if this is a terrible idea, or if it has some merit as i feel i will continue to gain strength through my other sports, ie. rock climbing, etc.
thanks
Adam

Less an answer than feedback:
Your pursuits sound a lot more athletic than mine, but I, too, have noticed a migration in my own training. I started out with strength training (kettlebells, since I came to CST late in the game), then switched to ballistic/cardio KB training, then to KB juggling (kind of akin to Clubbell®s), then came to FlowFit alternating with ballistic KB and juggling work, all the while doing daily Warrior Wellness similar to Intu-Flow™ in its role.
Now, I'm only doing daily WW, breathing meditation, and 3/wk FlowFit, and keeping all the gains I made with the previous work (my goals were weight loss, BP reduction, and stress reduction, in 15-25 minutes a day). I've concluded that for me, this basic triad addresses all my fundamental bodywork needs: fitness for a lifetime, brief and doable, increasing longevity and quality, more energy for family and work. Anything beyond is gravy, to be done on top of this, but this is the "don't drop below this" level for me.
I'll be checking out Forward Pressure, and FlowFit 2 when it comes out this summer; Mushtaq Ali has told me that he finds FP the most helpful of the existing programs. You aren't the only one who's noted a migration to one particular "corner" of CST. Luckily, FF, IF, and CB's are each complementary AND stand alone products.

Adam,
Are you seeking to enhance your strength is those given sports or are you interested in using those sports as a means of strength training in and of themselves? Tell me more about your goals.

Hobbes, me too man, IF-Qigong-FF with various pullups cover it pretty well. In time I may want to mod/switch FF with FP and FF2.

Having just started Intu-Flow™ I find it difficult not to keep my mind on the next step or progression no matter how far down the road that might be. Clubbell®s were looking like the place I wanted to go next. As you know the cost is considerable in this direction. To hear you state the yoga programs are getting it done for you is quite interesting. Exersice that require only your body are very practical in many ways.
What I'm wondering is are you making any strength gains doing the yoga or just "maintining" earlier gains from Clubbell®s?
This might be a direction for people like myself to consider. Interested in feedback !
Sincerely,
Edward Sloan
