Hi All!
I've been a student of RMAX and CST methods for about a year, but this is my first live seminar, held in Orange County under CST coach D Cody Fielding.
Here's how it went, for me:
9:50 AM, in the beautiful Atrium hotel, coach F steps out from the venue. Seeing my starstruck look, after a moment, he says 'Give me a hug!'.
After excusing myself to change (and to dry my starstruck eyes),
the seminar started. Right away, one is impressed by the high level of competence, knowledge, and professionalism of CST cadre. We went through the 3 wings of CST, starting with about 2 hours of Intu-Flow™. Moving to the patio, it was then time for Clubbell®s, and we received instructions on 10 movements. It was the first time I've touched Clubbell®s, but right away I was impressed. To me, it's like those little scooters you see in Italy or the Far East, the Vespas and Hondas, etc...When you use one the functionality becomes immediate, and you see how useful it can be. It truly is a matter of intuitively perceiving value, especially to us who've become jaded by useless exercise equipment we see in infomercials.
After a quick lunch, we moved on to Prasara. This was another highlight of the event, to me. In about an hour, coach F had us go through about half of Flock of pigeons, and Tumbleweed. I was left with new confidence and am very happy I attended.
We concluded with a session of Flowfit, where, again, thanks to his patience and clear explanations, everyone was able to perform, at one's own place.
I am confident in stating that we all left impressed with the professionalism, courteousness, and sheer talent in explaining this fantastic material which is CST, as expressed by coach Fielding.
Oh, and coach F and I departed with a hug also. This from a very shy person, which people often mistake for arrogance, stupidity, or who knows what, demonstrates, I believe the this RMAX is a truly important development.

I liked that bit. A person that can bring a shy person out of their shell has something special about them. I can relate to that being a shy person myself.

Peter,

Thank you for your thoughts. I'm still star struck  myself over the hard work, the participants' willingness to put themselves out there and perform when such a vast array of material is being exchanged.

It is simply and honor and a privilege to be in a position of sharing this information. Each time I do, it makes every hour of study, every session of my personal practice, every sweaty workout - 100% worthwhile.

Wes and I decided to take an extra day to ourselves in OC. We'll have some photos to share and an extra story or two after we get settled in SF.

Great to meet you Peter. Thank you again for all your hard work and generous thoughts.

More soon,
C-

My special thanks to CST Instructor Tony "Hollywood" Barbarino, he came down from LA as a participant and in true CST style, helped out as needed.

Feedback from another attendee:

This isn't the first time I saw Cody in action: it's exactly the second, the first being The Path, L.A., when Coach Sonnon spontaneously pulled him into a demonstrating gig. Coach Fielding, as Cody now ranks, was as meticulous and generous then as he was during the Orange County seminar. This is also exactly the second time I've seen CST instructor Tony Barbarino from L.A. in action, and all I can say is how lucky his clients in L.A. are to have someone as enthusiastic and selfless as he has been.

I'm an MD by professional training, and had originally contacted Cody to get an intro to CST, to see where it might help patients of mine with various bodywork and health needs. The seminar was perfectly structured to review the underlying theory that truly sets CST apart, as well as to give hands-on exposure to each CST wing: the foundational slate-clearing Intu-Flow®, the fully enveloping movement of Clubbell® strength training, and Prasara + FlowFit moving the body thru space while conditioning it.

The attendees varied from those with no prior knowledge of CST, to folks who had been doing aspects of it for up to a year. "CST 101" was how the seminar had been billed, and everyone appreciated the equal time given not only to proper performance of the movements, but also to appreciating CST's hallmark vibe from the very start of their experience. Health first, and pick up cosmesis, conditioning, and attributes along the way. Learn to be more efficient, rather than less (more "light," and only as much "heat" as is necessary, so to speak). Regain the capacity for movement that you once had, but get moving -- and proceed in the quickest steps of all, baby steps. Relearn how to attend to what your body is telling you, and adjust your own unique practice accordingly. Rate your sessions quantifiably, to make possible the tracking and correcting of your progress. "Be Breathed" by all movement, and consider the possibility of "perpetual exercise," where all actions are done with training benefit.

All that stuff :) that is so impressive to me as a physician, wanting something safe for myself and others that has its heart in the right place. That there is more to bodywork than just getting trim, or strong, or conditioned, or svelte/graceful -- or even lowering your BP, stress level, or bodyweight, or rehabing injuries. Much, much more.

BKS Iyengar once wrote that when he started teaching yoga, he had almost nothing: all he knew how to do was to do yoga and to teach it. Holy crap, there's not much left if you can walk the walk and show others how to do the same. A big THANK YOU to Coach Fielding for making such a comprehensive experience possible, and I am much looking forward to future "CST 201, 301, etc." seminars.

Dr Kim,

I said this at the seminar but let me say it here, Thank You so much for making that seminar possible. You put forth a tremendous effort to make that happen and I truly appreciate it.

I enjoyed our process of putting the seminar together, working in person and our 'off-line' discussions.

Keep playing with that Leg Swoop, I'll look forward to seeing it next time.

All my best,
C-
