Wow. I received so many emails and PMs of people asking if I would post another montage, that they caught some clips of today's training and threw them together.

Today was an absolutely exhilarating session! Actually, fitness model Summer Huntington joined me for a couple hours.

I'll post some photos of Summer's session a little later. For now, here's....

I'm telling you, I would follow you into a pit full of spikes, for what it's worth.

I don't think you can have any idea of the power this stuff has for others. Not just because it's a bunch of burly sweat... but because it is clearly more than that.

Blessings, truly.

Coach,
Your ring pulls to presses and L seat progresions brought back sweet memories for me. You are going to totaly shred on the Flow Dome!!!

Love the switch swipes. Did you do any other exercises (Catch?) to prep you for those other than the single handed swing to the 2 handed arm cast?

Coach Sonnon,

Your "Day in the Life" clips are both helpful and inspirational!!

I have a question. Are the two videos components of a single THP or are they from two distinct THPs? Since the original 4x7 uses pretty much one circuit (with variations) through the whole THP, I was wondering if you also use two (or more) circuits within one THP? Hope the question is not too stupid...;)

Cheers,
Adam

Thanks everyone.

Adam, it's part of one cycle that I'm working on. It's the 4x7 formula which makes it work. I can't give anything else away about my personal program though.

Sean, yes there was a set of two handed front swipes in there, but just too much for the montage.

Very Cool. But I'd have preferred to see the videos in real time though to see what is going on with the breathing. But very inspirational nonetheless.

I have to say, I'm always in awe at how Coach always keeps his back in PERFECT alignment through every exercise. I never see any lumbar rounding, not even slightly. I'm sure we have all seen clips posted on other fitness websites (which shall remain nameless) of people engaging in workouts, and the stress that I see on spines in those videos, as a result of poor form, would give you nightmares. Kudos to Coach for leading by example. Awesome.

Nick,

The montages weren't intended to be instructional (nor should they), but to show the sophistication of work capacity that I emphasize in my personal 4x7 cycles. All of my workout couldn't even be fit onto it, and it's done over the course of approximately 25 minutes. No one will sit through countless repetitions in real time, firstly. That's the reason for the fast speed.

Secondly, people then try and mimic video. How I am breathing is not how a newbie should breath (who should be working on 'disciplining' their breath.) Just like the "short-cuts" I take in fighting are not what a newbie should take - who needs to build basic structure.

That's the primary problem with online videos. They attempt to instruct rather than demonstrate. Coaching should be left to those who are qualified to do in the medium most appropriate for it: that being, in-person. Remember, what component impedes your performance most likely will not be an issue for another person... who has an impeding component which is not an issue for you. Everything is relative.

These videos were just to give you some ideas, and most importantly just to share with people how much fun I have in my personal sessions!

Guys...he's not 20 years old either!

Awesome!

Fair point.

One more thing I meant to say in my post - love the 'insane grin' during the swipes at around the 3.05 minute mark in the clip. Like a man possesed, having far too much by half. lol, very cool though..

I noticed that too. I thought maybe I saw some Viking blood hacking its way to the surface (and through everything else).

I am always amazed how the internet empower people with more courage and talent than they really have in the real world. I wonder if "bulkandpower" would speak to Sonnon like that in person? My educational guess is NO. My advice and thoughts to this person is spend more time training and less time telling people how they suck or how they are a fake. If you are the real deal and can teach me something useful, than I will attend your seminar; however I won't be holding my breathe. In the end, there is enough negativity in the world and we don't need to waste our precious lifeforce on ignorant people like bulkandpower.

Hi all,
A day in the life is awsome and inspireing as all get out. But that's nothing new for the Coach, because that's what he does. Coach , you appeared when this student was ready and clearly you haven't left so pour it on. I turned 74 this July, strounger, faster with more power and endurance then when we first connected about 2+ years ago. Thanks man.
I just finished todays work out and always think of you and thank God for the opportunity to do the work. For the record, today's work out was as follows:
Time 12:30 PM on the pool deck in bright sun and 90degrees
Warm up:
1)slow count knuckle Push up 24ct up and 24 ct down, followed by 12 reg. knuckle push ups
2) same routine for straight back squats
3) same routine for straight leg sit ups
4) same routine for leg overs to toes to the groeund behind the head
Clubbell®S 15 lbs:
1) single CB MILLS 0 choke 3x8 R+L hands
2) Dbble CB snatches to torch 0 choke 3x8
3) Dbble CB Flag press 0 choke 3x8
RINGS:
1) Ring push ups with rings lvl with a 14" box 3x8
I'm working to get this roiutine up to 5x12 before changing it and I'm playing with FlowFit which I know holds a break through for me. I know this is working for me because I feel great through out the work out and strong and up after.
Coach, please keep on keeping on. We're all blessed by your work.

Tony - What you're doing is what I'm shooting for. You probably don't have a clue what you do for others - especially those taking the long view - by doing the work and sharing the experience. Keep on, keep telling.

======================

And I don't know what the bulkandpower thing is about, but I sincerely hope he ponies up the 15K. The results would be marvelous for everyone.

But I especially like the bit about "... that sped up vid s%^& isnt real. Why you trying to pass it off like you can do that?"

Now, I don't know about anyone else, but I would LOVE to see anyone demonstrate how easy any one of these movements are if slowed down. The thought of the mechanical effect puts me in fear of herniation.

I reckon that Coach Sonnon's personal inbox is more of a lavalamp/kaleidoscope than anyone could imagine....

LMFAO! Check out this beauty of an email.
Now that is funny. It'd be way harder to fake it than just to do it! and that is hard enough. What is the guy thinking, that you got a special effects studio in on it to morph you around?

Coach Clavijo

I think BnP meant that Coach Sonnon couldn't perform the work at the tempo the video plays at. I don't think he meant that Coach couldn't do the exercises, rather that he believes Coach sped it up to mislead people into thinking that he does the exercises at that speed. I know anyone else would immediately understand why the video was made that way, but going by the wording in the email, BnP is obviously a "genius"

_________________________________________

Question: In one of the pictures, it kinda looks like one of the Clubbell®s that Summer is using is see-through. Am I just seeing things? Or is that maybe a hollow plastic bell? Perhaps for practicing the mechanics before throwing on the weight?

I suspect that he thought that there was some camera trickery used. For example, one could perform one pressup slowly then loop the clip 20 times and speed it up to show a performance of 20 presses done with demonic speed. He maybe thought that Coach used camera trickery to make himself "look better".

People will always despise those that have the balls to transcended a culture and mindset that they are still struggling to cope with, and will always try to bring them down a peg. Its a law of nature I reckon.

The "see through" club is most likely the result of camera blur taken by a digital camera of a fast moving object. Happens.

only a total weeny'd think that the vids are doctored. someone's just tugging your lanyard Scott. No doubt that there's some serious skill/strength there, but jayyysus...it not like we were watching Scott magically doing all of Kurt Thomas' moves????? (no harm meant Scott) THAT would've been...em....surprising :-)
