Does anyone, Athletes, Instructors, or Coaches, have experiene training with a person with Multiple Sclerosis?

I ask for two reasons, one, my mother -in-law has MS. I have been trying for the last 18 months to get her interested in at least Intu-Flow®, but as they only visit about every six months, and those visits are relatively short and jam packed, we have not had time to review any of my videos together. I have talked to her about CST but just have not been able to explore it with her. For the past several years, she has had great success with swimming to help her balance, body awareness, and overall physical well-being, and I am confident that Intu-Flow® would do the same. Maybe with some anecdotal evidence I could really convince her.

Second, next month I am walking in the MS Challenge Walk, and although I typically try to spread the word about CST wherever I go, when talking with persons with MS, I again would like to have some anecdotal evidence or a point of contact from the Tribe that I could refer them to, to hear first-hand personal experience.

Brian,

I have trained MS diagnosed people with the Intu-Flow material. It worked wonders!

Brian,

I have personally trained a client w/ MS, as you project, this was a wonderful boon for his neurology. We worked together for about 1.5 years with much of our focus on W. Wellness (pre-IntuFlow) before he moved back to NY. In that time, his stability, coordination improved, much of his body pain was diminished and he simply felt better.

Feel confident recommending, but the real knowing is in the doing. I've found most folks in these conditions very receptive to unique suggestions that offer hope through a logical progression.

Hope this helps,
C-

Coach Sonnon and Coach Fielding,

Thank you for your replies.

The little that I do know about MS and the way that it affects the neurological system, I assumed that the way CST is intended to target the same system would be of tremendous help. As I walk, I will definitely try to point as many people as I can to the forum, and will recommend contacting you for personal accounts if neccessary.

Thanks again,

Doc

A big factor in working with MS patients is to avoid overheating and excessive fatigue which can aggravate symptoms. I would think that RMAX's intuitive training approach would be ideal!

Keith,

This is an excellent point. The concepts are slightly modified, the RPT remains high, the RPD remains low (and includes attentiveness to body temperature), the RPE would drop down (IMO) below a 6 to ensure the client is not heating up.
