I think I've seen it before, but can someone tell me what the prerequisites are for attending a CST certification course. I've been doing Intu-Flow (beginner) for three months now, am doing a Century program with the mini's, and have a pair of 10# Clubbells that after reading the big book am "playing around" with? With money a factor (I no longer use credit), am not in a position to buy a bunch of additional items in order to attend a certification.
With initial certification, if obtained, would one be able to teach CST in a commercial and/or private setting?
Also, which airport would you fly into near Bellingham and are the hotels/accomodations far enough away to require a rental car?
And one last thing. I've done this before in Blauer certifications in Canada. Would attendees be interested in staying together to cut down on the hotel costs?
Sorry for so many questions.
Take care and stay safe.

Requirements beneath.
Yes, certification gives the right to teach commercially.
Bellingham has an excellent airport. Seattle and Vancouver major ports from which you could shuttle, bus or rental car - both approximately 1 hour - 1.5 hours away traffic and border crossing dependent.
Yes, people bunk together in the same room to cut costs.
Requirements for this Seminar
General Physical Preparation BEFORE the seminar:
Be able to perform before the seminar 3 sets of 12 repetitions with a rating of technique (RT) of 6 or higher on a scale of 1-10 (10 being 'perfect form') each of the basic exercises from the Clubbell® Training for Circular Strength DVD (not the Combination Routines). You may administer this self-test over as long a time as you wish, but all sets of each exercise must be performed at once (i.e. 3 sets of 12 reps of arm cast one day, and 3 sets of 12 repetitions of front pendulums the next.) The goal of this self-exam is to prepare the general endurance, strength and form (breathing, movement and structure) for participating in the seminar.
Also be prepared with an experience of Prasara Body-Flow and Intu-Flow® DVDs, as well as having read through the CST Magazine.
If you wish to pursue Certification, here are your expectations DURING the seminar (pursuing certification is not mandatory since many individuals register just to improve their CST Athleticism.)
You are always being tested if you are pursuing instructor, coach or head coach certification, although the exam is different for each level. It is not a 'pay for certification' seminar. To receive CST Instructor Certification you must successfully complete and maintain the following four examinations:
I. CST Physical Competency: (administered at seminar)
1. The performance of all basic exercises (featured in the Intu-Flow®, Clubbell® and Prasara Body-Flow DVDs respectively), and all joint circle movements, with a rating of technique (RT) of 8 or higher (on a scale of 1-10; 10 being perfect form) in breathing, structure, and movement. Basic exercise refers to those individual techniques which are not combination routines and are not kinetic chains.
2. The ability to craft (at the event from a random exercise selection), perform and explain (the constituent connections) a combination routine (Clubbell® Training) and kinetic chain (Prasara Body-Flow) with a flow of RT8 or higher.
3. The ability to score half of the points required for Class III distinction in International Clubbell® Sport in 5 minutes of Mills and 5 minutes of Swipes with a 5 minute break in-between. You may choose any weight. Form is judged.
II. CST Client Interview, Poise Analysis and Program Design:
(explained and administered during the seminar)
III. CST Written Examination:
You have 1 month from the conclusion of the seminar to complete and submit your examination by email, which will accompany your instructor candidate manual. The Written Exam is revised every seminar, so do not expect to be able to use prior questions.
IV. CST Instructor Monthly After Action Report (AAR):
Certification is contingently granted upon successful completion of the above three exams. Certification remains active so long as instructors post one overview every 8 weeks of their cycles up the Training Hierarchy Pyramid (such as, "8 Weeks to Fat Burn" or "2 Months to Golf Swing"). For the 18 month period of certification, this equals 9 total AARs. The focus of being a CST Instructor is to be your own best client first! If one month lapses without an AAR, the individual forfeits certification. AARs are to be posted to the public area - Member Article Archive - so that your personal development is "out there" and others are benefitting from how you addressed and overcame your hurdles in each cycle.

Thanks Coach...just a couple more for now anyway:
Are all the necessary Clubbell exercises in the Big Book or do I need to purchase the Clubbell DVD?*
As far as experience with Prasara, would Flowfit I be sufficient or would I need to purchase the specific Body Flow DVD and/or book?*
*these questions appear to have been answered in the post, but I want to make sure.
This definitely appears to be the most stringent certification process I have looked into, so I just want to have all my ducks in a row! However, I also don't want to think I have to be perfect before deciding to attend.
Take care and stay safe.

1. All of the exercises are in the Big Book that you will be responsible for.
2. You need to be versed in the 5 major flows seen only in the Prasara DVD.
3. It is the most rewarding and most beneficial certification in the industry!!!
I look forward to training you at Lambda!

Ciao Coach,
How are you? I'll do my registration next week ..because I could not make it at KAPPA but I will not loose Lambda.
By the way,I was pretty busy later and I just started my new THP..and I wanted to use your 4x7....Coach I have to be honest...you kick my but once again...and you're totally correct..if you do it as you teach it..great technique with the rigth rest between and the fine level of disconfort...well..I can tell you that I'm tired...but feel like a lion...my only mistake was the first day; I did 25 minutes of rope skipping before...and then the 4x7 circuit A...WRONG ALBERTO ..Wrong!!
Thanks for all your knowledge and help.
looking forward to see you soon and I'll keep you up date for the Italy project that seams going in the rigth path.

Coach Sonnon,
A while back you talked about changes to the CST seminars:
For 2006, CST certification will automatically include subcertification in Intu-Flow®™, Prasara Body-Flow and Clubbell® training. In 2007, they will be separate courses, which will be scheduled and released publicly in late 2006. All certification courses are conducted throughout the year. Schedules, times, details on registration can be found online.
Is Lambda still on the current system or will it be on the new, seperated system? I didn't see any options for selecting only one of the 3 branches/levels so I'm guessing its still on the current system?
Scott Sonnon

RMAX has not yet offered public certification courses in only Clubbell Training, Prasara Yoga and/or Intu-Flow.

I just wanted to clarify that the Bellingham CST Seminar is in Feb 23-26 in 2007 instead of the 2006 as listed in the posting. Or is this in reference to a past Seminar?
Thanks,

2. You need to be versed in the 5 major flows seen only in the Prasara DVD.
Hi Coach,
Does this mean we should be able to do all the 5 major flows if we intend to be certified?
If we want to go for certification do we signify our intention before the seminar?
Thanks,
Edwin
Coach Hurst
09-26-2006, 07:04 AM
Yes, you need to know the 5 Canon Flows in order to be certified. That is the minimum for being certified in Prasara. Does this mean that you need to be able to perform them to perfection at the seminar? No. You will be working on them INTENSELY while at the seminar. Just make sure that you have worked through them before the seminar.
In a nutshell you should be able to comfortably talk and explain your way through a flow WHILE doing it in order to be able to teach it to others. That is when you know that you are ready to teach it to others. That means having full understanding of structure, breathing and movement within/during the flow. ;) :)
Although you don't necessarily need to be able to do that in order to get certified that will give you an idea as to when you will be able to instruct others. Just because you are certified doesn't necessarily mean you are ready to teach. Think of becoming certified as the first step to a better understanding of yourself and the material.

Thanks Coach Hurst. Just 1 more question for now. So you have to pass all of the above for certification? Or can you choose just one that you are interested to be certified in?
Coach Hurst
09-26-2006, 04:32 PM
Edwin,
To become a Certified CST Instructor you will have to pass all 3 of the core curriculum of CST; Intu-Flow, Prasara and Clubbell Training. CST Intuitive Assessment, Program Design and Class Structure is within the three of these. If you choose to attend a CST Cert. Seminar you will be required to work on all three and not just choose which part you would like to attend. There are those that hold a Level 1 Prasara Cert. but they are not CST Intructors.
If I were coming all the way over from the Philippines I would definitely want to go for all three! :)
Looking forward to meeting you at Lambda.

Just an idea: With so much of the Coaching staff planning on being in Bellingham, are there any plans for any FlowFighting events either before or after the CST IC? Could I be so bold as to suggest a full FF seminar either the weekend before or the weekend after? I know that's a lot to expect and certainly a lot of work for the coaching staff, but impatience is a part of my nature. :)
Either way, I'm certainly going to have to check out Coach C.'s classes while I'm there.
