Hi everyone, I recently had a student of mine approach me before a class to tell me about a breakthrough he had. This student has been attending BJJ classes along with his training with me. He informed me of a new move his instructor had shown the class and that only he (a newbie in BJJ) was able to pull off on the first try. The movement involved moving your leg in an (unconventional) manner to set up the hold.
My student rightly attributed his uncommon freedom of movement to some of the Biomechanical Exercise I had exposed him from Scott's work. He further confided in me that for the longest time he has been doing these drills and thought quite honestly that they were probably useless and couldn't see the point. Now he sees the point...... :o

Send your student my congratulations. Excellent coaching, Shawn. It's not easy to keep a student motivated to do something of which he initially doesn't understand the critical value. But the reward of seeing the breakthrough in their eyes when they make such performance leaps... is worth any challenge.

I loved it when he told me "I never really thought there was anything to that drill." I laughed and asked him why the hell he continued to do it. :D
I mean I know Iam fun to be around but really!!!
Seriously, the benifits of this kind of mobility training crosses over into so many fields. Iam happy to be able to expose people to it.

You really need to increase the visibility of this monumental perk on your website services. I would say this is probably one of the, if not the single most significant aspect anyone could bring to their clients... the ability to accelerate their learning and adaptibility in ANY sport or activity?! Who could compete with you with that?
Sure, fitness attributes are all well and great, self-defense is a bonus, sport fighting is fun, but bringing true Body-Flow to your clients transforms their ability to learn, adapt and improvise in any field.
You should really consider letting your potential clients realize just how unique and powerful your services are... and get your butt to a CST seminar so we can really get serious in building your professional services and online presence.

Yeah Shawn, body flow rocks. It can be this big sharp toothed crawly highly mobile low to the ground thing thats going to strangle you :( and it can be super fluid highly graceful beautiful movement in any frame not using chairs like japanese people because the body can go up and down and look good doing it. I mean every time I open a 'National Geographic' I see somebody sitting in the flat foot squat. Id be interested in learning all the ways a chair rocks your world. Maybe a home with less chairs is a more sophisticated home.

Ahhh one mountain at a time
The website is a continued work in progress. I trying to find a balance between making it a useful community and a means of effectively letting my potential clients know about the kind of training I offer.
The CST is something that I look forward to experiencing, but as I said one mountain at a time. Iam working hard to get myself down to the next IDP and from there hopefully really start to bring this kind of training to Canada in a big way. I have invested years in that program and I am looking forward to exposing more and more people to the benefits I have experienced through it.
