If anyone here has heard of Brooks Kubrik he is famous for the great bodybuilding/strength book Dinosaur Training. I just got an email to say that he is now turning from weights and released a bodyweight training system. Is this a bit of a trend or what? He said it got him in the best shape of his life. Anyone seen the program?

Scott...
I am not a moderator, but generally speaking this is a forum for RMAX and discussions relating to their programs. While your question is valid, this may not be the best place for it.
However, having said that, RMAX has some wicked bodyweight programs. Take a look at FlowFit, FlowFit 2, Be Breathed, and Forward Pressure if you want an excellent experience and bodyweight fitness system that get results. Ask what other members experiences are with these programs and I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
Good luck.

Try a google search. It has been a while and I can't remember where I saw the write-up. The gist of it as I recall is that he has an association w/ Mat....Fury(sic)and is trying out his hand at questionable (BS) marketing. The foundation of the physique that adorns the cover comes from weight-lifting and not the BW exercises; much like the cover of MF's Wombat Conditioning.

Like anything, some people like him, some people don't. But you should be fielding your questions to him, not to RMAX. You will find here an alternative to the potpourri approach to fitness. Multi-modalities aka "cross-training" does not exist: Does "Cross-Training" Exist? (http://www.rmaxinternational.com/45/sonnon3.html)
Following the belief in "cross-training" can't get us deep enough. It's like snorkeling versus scuba diving. Yes, you can look around from the top, but you never can go to any depths in any one place.
Find an approach you prefer, that is fun enough for you to keep you motivated and stick with it, whether that's CST or some other specific system. Once we have mastered a system's depth, then we discover a breadth of flexibility that we couldn't have gained from skimming the surface.
And a soft reminder so that you aren't surprised by a moved thread in the future...
Posts deemed obscene, prejudicial, inflammatory or posts discussing other companies' products/services in direct competition with RMAX will be moderated at its discretion.

Sorry guys. I wasn't trying to advertise Brooks at all. I just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with it. I am from a bodybuilding backround and his name is famous in that world. I just wondered why he was trying his hand at this style of stuff now? I know he is involved with Matt and I was hoping he wasn't getting into the Furey BS routine after being really respected for so long.
I don't want to buy it or anyone else too. It was just a question out of interest.
I am here to learn this stuff from now on and have already deleted a lot of forums and newsletters (aka MF) to focus on this 110%.
For future reference how do I ask questions on here about things other than Rmax? You have to remember that now I have found this great site and all of this great knowledge I want to get the opinions of trainers here that have seen the light if you know what I mean. There is no point in me asking Matt Furey what he thinks now is there? Isn't the General forum the place for this?

Scotty,
If you want to ask questions regarding other systems then you should ask them. The RMAX forum is for all things RMAX. If you have an RMAX related question we'll be happy to assist you. For other companies, check out their websites for information.

They won't give you on honest answer though. That would be like asking Matt Furey what he thinks of his own stuff wouldn't it? We already know what he said on him hopepage about CST don't we? See what I mean? Once you find people who know what they are talking about you want to ask their opinions on other topics/titles too.

Scotty,
This is a CST forum and the folks that come here either practice CST or are interested in CST. That's what the forum is for. I would recommend if you want to learn more about CST, dive in read the mag, read the old posts on the forum, pick up one of the resources and dive in. Then, make your own judgment.
I would recommend the same for Kubrik, Furey, Crossfit, RKC or any other method or materials out there.
The bottom line is, we could keep this up all day every day. What do we think of this, or what does someone else think of that, but in the end it doesn't get us any closer to our goals.
Whatever path your going to follow, follow it. Evaluate your progress and decide if it's for you.
Your asking people who have trained in other systems and believe that CST is the best system out there what we think of another system? Well, if we though another system was better, we'd be doing it. Coach Sonnon has said that many times, and it's the truth.
I don't know what else to tell you. Whatever system you choose to explore, you have to get deeply into it. You don't want to be a dabbler. A dabbler is someone that does a few things a few times, is inconsistent and always looking for a shortcut. They never improve because they never see anything through. Choose a path and stick with it until it gets you where you want to go, or doesn't. If it doesn't then move on to something else.
