Hi,

I hope it is OK to post this here, if not, I will post it in General Discussion...

I have recently started boxing. I am trying to apply principles of RMAX/CST to what I am learning. One of my big outstanding questions is how to "cast" a jab? Hardwork gave a great explanation of the casting action applied to a cross, but I can't quite conceptualize how it applies to a jab, or if it does. Any guidance would be appreciated :).

Cheers,
Adam

Adam,

When casting a jab or any strike for that matter, the skill develops from your work with IntuFlow. From there, speed and power increase by tightening up that cast. All the same mechanics apply your just tightening up the circles, if that makes sense.

Slow down the larger motions and focus on making them smaller. Do it just like you practice your IntuFlow. Work to and not through the resistance. In the case of striking the resistance is different but the method is the same.

Does that help?

Also if you check out my article "Heavy Bag Fitness" the clips at the bottom show a casted jab.
