Scott,
I've been lurking through these forums for quite some time after I learned about clubbells and your website. I have to say to you, thanks for bringing back such an outstanding piece of weight training equipment as these clubbells to the public and readjusting the whole workout landscape!

You wanted to know how people learned about clubbells, well, let me tell you how I got here. I am one that is attracted to something that is effective, if not untraditional (just check out my synthesizers (Korg Karma, Roland V-Synth), in the whole sense of the word. The mundane exercises in the gym really bored me . I got sick and tired of the rat race with weights that deep down inside I really felt weren't aiding me in the "functional" strength category. To make the short of the long, I started doing research into other exercise systems and first came across Kettlebells and Pavel's evil site. I ended getting two KBs from dragondoor (1 & 1.5 pood). I also read a lot on their online forums too. As I was reading through it one day I came across mention of Clubbells and Scott Sonnon. So, I did a Google on those two topics and get pointed right to this website. Ever the information sponge, I pretty much read through the whole website to get a feel for what these were all about and his other products. I decided get me some Clubbells to work out with and find out whether I should get 10s or 15s. Being the studly-dudly I thought I was, I got a set of 15s. These 3D exercises were exactly what I was looking for, functional and fun, plus odd too. The 15s were the right choice because I had to adapt to them, which came quickly, however, my studly-dudly image was slightly tarnished in my own mind. Since then, I have gotten Maximology, Body-Flow book and videos, and Slavanskiy Byeg. They have all provided an outstanding and indepth perspective to this whole concept of body-flow. Reading Scott's whole philosophy and conceptual train has been definitely enlightening and deepening. I haven't had this much deep and topically dense stuff since reading and trying to understand C.S. Pierce's tripartite explanation of how people comprehend the world through their language. Truly, KISS is dead, Complexity RULES!!

Again, thanks immensely for your work and I will go back into lurker status to absorb more from this wonderful board. Oh, by the way I am an active duty Air Force guy working in Alabama. Just don't have the fundage to go up to Atlanta for the courses up there, but I will one day.
Thanks,
Tom

Tom,
What a great introduction! Thank you for your kind words, and I look forward to the insights you'll be sharing here. Don't lurk too much. You'll be surprised how many relevant responses you'll stimulate!
PS: The ranking "Clubbell Newbie" is based upon post volume. If you want to get that studly rank of "Clubbell Knuckledragger" keep posting. Enjoy the pain, amigo.

Glad to meet ya Tom. I'm an infosponge too. Whale of a lot older, and I'd have to laugh at myself if I adopted a studly image, had it stuffed down my throat now long enough to know better. Hehehehe.

But lurk schmurk, jump in and tell us what you're discovering. A lot of people read this forum. Not all are "elite", some are looking for inspiration to get started and progress, we bring each other along here, welcome.

Rick
