How would I do it? Where would I start. Basically I'm alone in this endeavor. I'm away from my school and the martial art school that I attend now is a Russian Martial Art School teaching Systema. I'm still dedicated to my Hung Gar Gung Fu but I really just don't know what to do. Basically the curriculum is Hand Forms, Sparring Forms, and Weapon Forms. Problem is I have no contact with anybody. I'm still trying to get better and more proficient at wielding the weapons but I don't know where to start in applying RMAX to excel my proficieny i guess. I don't know, I'm lost.

Tyler,

We can help you get started.

What RMAX products do you own? This will help us to point you in the right direction.

Do you have a copy of the RMAX Training Group Manual? It outlines this process in detail, step by step.

Tyler-

Also, what are your goals in training? Smile.

I own Intu Flow, the RMAX Training Manual which I read, Olympic Clubbell Sport Book, The Big Book of Clubbell Training, Body Flow DVDS, Prasara DVDs, Be Breathed, Hardwork, Softwork, Flow Fit, Forward Pressure, Clubbell DVD, RMAX Powered Bujinkan.

My goals in training, truthfully I don't really know anymore. I think that's where the biggest problem is. To give you some backstory, I was training for like 7+ hours a day a couple years ago for along time and was taken under the Sifu's wing, people got jeolous, lots of negativity, and I left and been pretty much stuck in a rut ever since.

I would very much like to teach my art, that's one of my goals but sometimes I feel like i don't want to do that anymore. I don't know what I want to do.

Tyler-

Without a goal it is hard to make a plan. As coaches we can help you reach your goals, but we need to clearly define them first. if you were training 7 hours a day, my first question would be Why? but nonetheless we can dive into an overtraining discussion later.
It sounds like you have a lot to think about. In the meantime I would say,
1. Stay disciplined with daily Intu-flow
2. Stay disciplined with your CST practice
3. Train in the parts of your art that make you happy while focusing on Form-(breathe structure and movement)
4. Exhale and smile.

Your daily personal practice may just reveal some new goals for you. Good luck! Smile.

Always,

Joseph

Tyler,

To avoid confusion, I should post a small clarification here.

I understand and applaud your desire to attain teaching certification in your chosen art. However, it should be clearly stated that to teach anything using RMAX methodologies requires that one be certified by RMAX - whether that be in the realm of CST or FlowFighting. We fully support independent exploration and we're happy to help anyone who wants to go deeper into their unique individual path with RMAX Powering, but teaching RMAX material for money by non certified instructors is not permitted, and direct action will be taken with regard to such unscrupulous individuals. Please see the guidelines for informal RMAX training groups for more info: http://www.rmaxinternational.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10228

I realize that you aren't stating a desire to do this. It just seemed like a good time to clarify this point for everyone to avoid confusion down the road. :)

Don't worry Ryan, I already know. I'm signed up for the Bellingham Certification this February.

That wasn't specifically directed at you, but was a note in general (for everyone) since the topic came up. ;)

I look forward to meeting you there! :)
