Alton Brown presented a wonderful method of cooking fast, healthy, tasty meals with a minimum of prep and clean up in a episode from the 7th season of his show, "Good Eats" (on the Food Network). I always fall back on this method when I am short of time and energy and still want something good and good for me. It's called cooking "en papillote" (in parchment paper or aluminum foil) and it has made a huge difference in my cooking knowledge and habits. You can cook fish, pork, chicken, a variety of veggies, grains, and aromatics (with wines, sauces, broths, stock etc for additional flavor), and even fruits and desserts.

I can't possibly do it justice in a post (I don't have all day), but I CAN provide a link to the site with the transcript of his show ("The Pouch Principle"). Brown is a very witty and entertaining writer and educator, and I can almost guarantee that you will learn a lot AND get a big smile or two from it.

Enjoy.
