Well it's offical. I am now back from the Middle East. Hopefully for good but right now I'm not worried about that. I'm just glad to be home. It was an interesting year. I learned alot about myself; things that I didn't like and things I need work on.
I'm not worried about all of that right now. Now I'm focusing on reaquainting myself with my family and settling back into a quasi-civilian lifestyle..
For the record, I've got 25 years in the Army National Guard, 10 years of that full time currently as a Electronics Techincian. Man, the time flies.

Good luck to all of you currently deployed overseas. You are in my prayers daily.

Dale,

Been there, done that. Glad you're home safe and sound, and many thanks for standing in the gap by taking your shift.

I know what you mean about learning about yourself: the things you like and things that you don't. Adversity has a knack for teaching us a lot, if our hearts are open to the lessons. Those are the riches you brought home with you.

Enjoy the holidays with your loved ones.

Glad you made it back safe and sound Dale! I just got here, but my time will come. :-) Over the last 2 wks I've had to listen to a lot of the guys from the unit we replaced talking about going home. I was glad for them, but it was a bit depressing nonetheless. Now we're getting "settled in" and hitting a routine. I'm counting on the days going by fairly quickly. :-)

Thanks,
Yeah I remember being down quite abit the first few months because of the holidays. Callling home almost everyday helped tremendoulsy.

I have to say that my time in Balad went by the quickest. It was work, eat sleep, exercise. Repeat. Time flew by for me and I know it will for you.

Stay safe,
