I spent a fair amount of time today watching this DVD set. I'd like to say this is a great refinement of the Clubbells for Circular Strength video. But I can't say that, because it's not true.

In my opinion, this release is an evolutionary leap of the material, and a necessary companion for the Big Book of Clubbells, especially if you're like me and have some difficulty translating flat photographic images into movement.

Disc 1 takes you through the 7 Key Components of Structure and the basics of Clubbell mechanics and positions. This is a FAR more thorough examination of the material than the one disc CT4CS video could allow, and is exactly what you will hear at any CST class or seminar you attend. Your understanding and practice of the concepts on this disc are vital. DO NOT let your eyes glaze over, or skip this disc and jump directly into the exercises! Refer back to it often. Doing diligence with this material will reward you with long, injury-free, and effective practice.

Disc 2 covers the rhythmic exercises, circles, swings and pendulums. Disc 3 covers Basic Ballistic Exercises - cleans, jerks, and snatches. Disc 4 covers your grinds, such as arm and shoulder cast. And disc 5, the Combination Routines. Each exercise is discussed in depth, both from a movement and structural standpoint.

I actually envy those starting out with Clubbells with this DVD set as a resource. It isn't going to be quite the same as attending a class and getting feedback on your performance. But from the standpoint of getting the information and video you need to begin practicing Clubbell exercises safely and effectively, I'd say this is the next best thing. If you are just starting out, I do hope you'll consider loading up disc 2 and practicing its contents thoroughly, and move on from there, rather than immediately skipping ahead to that tempting, super-cool stuff on disc 5. (However, the Clubbells do have a unique way of reminding us where our foundation is weak. if you skip ahead too fast, you'll get some physical feedback!)

Kudos to Coach Sonnon, Summer Huntington, and the RMAX team for another fine release!

OK. Everybody knows that I tend to gush. It's not like I'm proud of it or anything.

But I'm just going to say this: The first disk (which is all I've watched so far) is worth the price of this set. So you could pretty much come over here and use other 2 disks as coasters for your thermonuclear power travel mug, and I still wouldn't feel cheated. Also, you'd spare yourself 2 additional gushes that I'm thinking are likely to follow... (stop me before I gush again?)
