I'm wondering if anyone can tell me then name of a good, freeware diet tracking PC application? I've been using www.fitday.com and it's perfect, but I need to log on to the net everytime I want to add / check something.

Recently I've been using Cybernetic Dietician. Unfortunately, it doesn't really suit my needs.

I'm looking for software that does this -

Keeps a record of calories, proteins, carbohydrates and fats.
Keeps a record of vitamin and mineral intake
Has an inbuilt nutritional database that can be added to
Allow for ongoing graphing of above (weekly etc) plus comparison to RDA's

There is one minor snag. I need this program to be freeware or non crippled shareware. (Yes, I realize you could use excel to do this. But I don't have excel either! Also, I've already scoured simtel without success)

I don't care how ugly (DOS) it looks, as long as it works

Any suggestions appreciated.

Not to worry. I dug in the bowels of google and found one (The Magical Dietitian - Nutrition Genie MD). It is as ugly as sin, but does most of what I wanted it for.

Hello, if you're still searching for diet software, try www.dietpower.com. Tracks all your activities, meals as one would expect, but also trys to adapt itself to your metabolic rate as it learns your eating habits, etc.

I agree. Dietpower is great. I looked at a number of apps and this was the easiest to use.
