Looking for advise with supplementing with these two products.
BCAA and L Glutamine
I have read to take both before and after exercise 5 grams each.
The question is how long before exercise?
Also, someone suggested both in the am after waking and both following your workout?
Any thoughts on these two guides would be appreciated.
Thank You
Alan
The underlying idea on both is the same. The body selectively sucks up more of these aminos during stress/excercise, so supplement so that your never low. Tons of studies on burn victims/aids pataints with glutamine showing help with healing amd muscle retention.
That said, your milage may vary, as they say. I never got anything out of either. As Chuck has pointed out if your assimilating a good amount of quality protien supplementation becomes less of an issue. Plus your not, or shouldn't be so beat up that your like a burn victim.
I would maximize evrything else, cycling, rest, etc... before going this route.

Hi Alan,
I agree completely with Bill on this one. Both supplements you mentioned are great and have a significant amount of research done on them respectively.
Having said that, they are not 'miracle cures' and would be a welcomed addition and boost when you have everything else (diet and exercise protocol) completely fine tuned and working well. You will receive much bigger rewards by focussing there before trying to add in any extras.
I hope this helps. Sometimes we always are told that this or that will take you to the next level when in reality, we would be many levels ahead of their promises if we concentrated on the basics first. Establish the foundation and squeeze every bit out of it and THEN look for the little boosters.
Sincerely,
