Among the several gifts from RMAX that Santa brought me this year was Coach Ryan Murdock’s “RMAX Powered Bujinkan Volume 1” DVD. This resource has been out there for a little while now and I was very glad to finally get a copy of if myself.

While I don’t currently practice Bujinkan I have studied it in the past. So my main purpose in studying this resource was as an example of how an RMAX Head Coach approaches using CST to train and enhance performance in his martial art.

In that regard this DVD did not disappoint. In fact it’s a gold mine of practical RMAX wisdom that anyone can learn from regardless of your particular delivery system.

My past experience studying Bujinkan helped me put this program into a proper context. But anyone with even a little training in any martial art will, with careful thought and analysis, be able to gain insight into the principles involved.

Volume one includes everything from uniquely designed Intu-Flow® and Body-Flow exercises to two complete GPP routines. The video quality if good and the instruction is excellent.

I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on volumes 2 & 3 of this series. After seeing volume one I am seriously thinking about renewing my study of the Bujinkan system. But even if I don’t do that I have already learned some great lessons about how to apply RMAX to any given delivery system, sport, of life activity.

Great review Jeffry, thanks very much!

I'm really glad that you brought this up. Apart from turning the CST lens on the delivery system that was my introduction to martial arts and crafting a specific package of RMAX resources for those good folks, my other purpose was to provide a clear example of how to apply CST to the delivery system of your choice.

I think, upon viewing Volume 2, this aspect of the series will be even clearer. I made specific reference to the areas of need that I was trying to address in each section and with specific exercises, and, with reference to Volume 1, you can see how individual exercises are sophisticated as we move up the pyramid.

Wow, that's great! I really enjoyed going back to my roots as I worked on this entire series, especially the martial stuff for Volume 3. It sure brought back a lot of memories, and it was nice to recall that spark of the earliest days when I first discovered the joys of MA training. Please keep us posted on your results. :)
