I just received a gift in the mail today from Dragondoor Publications in care of my friend, Pavel Tsatouline. He asked that I say a few words on his latest book, Naked Warrior.

As many of you know, I have great respect for Pavel. He and I have known each other for many years, since he first attended a seminar of mine in 98. I've watched him grow from co-running (with the late Mel Siff) the Russian Sports Science section of my online forum on one of my prior websites (amerross.com) to being Rolling Stones "Hot Trainer of the Year."

This isn't mere marketing savvy. The man has spearheaded a renovation of true tension production, and has crafted a resource presence with all the sophistication of an internal martial art.

Naked Warrior could be considered an encapsulation of some of the most valuable principles of tension production ever printed. Like each of his other books he has been kind enough to send me, this book out performs the prior. From my vantage point, you can see something very rare in them: evolution and refinement. Pavel has not stopped refining his material and his presentation… and from the looks of it, he’s never going to stop. Bravo, my friend.

Get this book, regardless if you are a complete newbie or a long time strength nut.

I just received my copy of Naked Warrior earlier this week. I've done one armed pushups before but not like this!

My main interest has been in the one-legged squats. I've never done them before so when I started (two days ago) I could only do 1-2 modified squats on each leg. By the end of the first day I could nearly do 5! The concept of "Stregnth being a skill" is proven again! Viewing my training as practice instead of a workout (whether physical training or trying to unbind my flow in my relationships w/others) has really helped!

Great news! I've been really interested in bodyweight conditioning since someone posted this link the other day http://www.dragondoor.com/cgi-bin/articles.pl?rm=mode3&articleid=229 ... so I will definitely check this book out.

i have gotten pavels book a lil while back and put it to use instantly!!!!!

with grate results in a fast amount of time.im finally after a few weeks of gtgs am able to put out 3 clean one hand push ups, wich seemed so scary at first.not to mention my progress with pistols.

my fav body weight exerse has to be the hand stand push up.the thoght of lifting my intire body from the ground was also very scary, lol.i remember doing my first full upwords motion in a hand stand and it was tense(tenstion was high)and with gtg practice im now doing five clean hand stand push ups with 10 pounds of anckle weights added, and im not doing them to falure(if i was pavel would have my head on a platter)
im so amazed at how my body adapts to this exercise,i havnt gained mass and that was my goal.gtg is aswome way of aproching this exercise.

- i did 3 in the morning.few hours later i did 3 again.by the end of the night i did fifteen.and my did this for a few days till i noticed im ready for more.and the anckle waigths were added.now im gonna continue this prosses with the acnkle waits on.the best part about it is i can (practice)this every day and never burn my muscles out.no pain and just gain.life sure is beutifull!!!!!!!
