In various publications, by both Coach Sonnon and Pavel Tsatsouline, I have seen numerous references to the work of the recently-deceased Mel C. Siff, particularly his book "Supertraining".

I have been thinking of acquiring "Supertraining" and possibly one or two other works by Mel Siff for my personal library, so I have been searching for information on it.

Here are some interesting links related to "Supertraining", including a few sites you can order it from:

Here are some interesting links on Mel C. Siff himself:

A quick Google search on "Mel C Siff" or "Supertraining" will turn up many dozens of other articles and research pieces produced by Mel Siff, or which were inspired by his work.

The lowest price I have been able to find "Supertraining" for is $59.95 plus shipping. If anyone knows where I can get a decent copy for less, please let me know. Thanks!

Mel Siff's other well-known book "Facts and Fallacies of Fitness" also sounds very interesting, though I am less inclined to pick it up unless I can get a very good deal on it.

It is a must!

He can be a little....sometimes, but it is a "must" have.

He helped me a lot personally with restructuring my Pilates program.

Buy everything the man wrote and then mourn his passing. Also, have a good dictionary on hand. And maybe a physiologybook open too.

Some parts can be dry, but he gives sound reasoning for every position he takes and forces one to think critically about commonly held "truths".

I agree with the previous two posts. Siff can read like stereo instructions at times, but Supertraining is hands down the best conditioning book I've ever purchased. It is a must for every enthusiast's and coach's library.
