What a great event! Thanks again to Coach Sonnon, the athletes and those who came to support, cheer on, and assist with OCS.

I thought I might offer up a few tips that might help future OCS'ers...

1. Water - Bring it...drink it...stay hydrated.
2. Make sure the knobs on your Clubbells are tight BEFORE beginning
3. Make sure to compress the "downtime" in your preparation. You need to be as recovered as possible by the time your name comes up for the second event. It is quite frustrating when your mis-shapen hand refuses to close

It was a great time!

To the man who out-Mill'ed me, I salute you... but the Mr. Olympia comes steadily closer.

Brandon's lesson #3 made me wonder if the contest format will continue to allow competitors to choose which event they want to do first. If so then a tip I would give to future competitors is to consider carefully which order works best for you, and practice both ways as much as possible in order to determine this.

If the events are going to be preset, I would vote for doing the Swipes last. Since the Swipes are a two clubbell event and every rep is counted only once (ie one doesn't have to wait to do both hands separately) and also since the Swipes tend to involve more resting followed by more intense activity and bodily involvement I think they are more exciting for spectators.
