This was my second CST IC, and the difference between this and my prior class (Iota, one year ago) was remarkable. The IC’s are truly reflective of the RMAX organization, and of CST itself; growing, changing, evolving and getting better.
One year ago, I showed up all alone. I had very little experience with Prasara, and was concerned that I was out of my league. At that time, Coach Wilson and Coach Fielding came up and introduced themselves, and that really set the tone for the whole weekend.
This year, I showed up to a room in which I almost knew everyone. I knew the whole Coaching staff, as well as Nikolay (the machine that keeps all this running), and some of the Instructors and Athletes. For me, the magic truly started when I shook the hand of the unknown faces, but found they had familiar names.
There are some people who are concerned that they are not ready for an IC. If you invest your money, your effort, your sweat and your time to the preparation for the IS, you will indeed leave the three days a better athlete than when you arrived.

To give you and limited view of what you might expect, allow me to summarize the weekend:
Every day you start with a warmup. This gets the blood flowing, the sweat pouring and dissipates the nervous energy. Coach Wilson truly gets us up and running (sometimes literally) with a unique blend of direction, orders and humor. When Coach Wilson says, “Do it for me…”, I just can’t say no!
The days will be broken down into lecture, flows and/or Clubbell work. This is where some people get a bit hinkey about their performance. Whether it is a Prasara flow, a joint mobility movement or a Clubbell technique, you will receive plenty of direction, guidance and feedback. For instance, while I feel I improved my Prasara work over the past year, I still have some work to go on releasing tensions due to my prior weightlifting careers. The Coaches and Head Coaches made suggestions, corrections and provided encouragement throughout the sessions. I truly believe that I left those three days in better condition and with a deeper understanding of CST than when I arrived.
Now, this is not a seminar where you show up and just hang around for three days. Well, I guess you could do that, but you’d be pretty lonely. There is HUGE amount of effort and work that you need to bring to the table to be successful. This can also be viewed as a three-day, hands-on physical performance practical. You are constantly being evaluated on your work. While it is a fun and supportive environment, it is also very demanding. The reward is the completion.
After completing an IC, you can stand proudly in the knowledge that you did so. There’s a camaraderie that gets developed by going through this with your compatriots, and lasting friendships are forged.
Dedicate yourself to an IC, and you will not be disappointed. Once you attend, you will undoubtedly keep coming back.
In closing, I would like to thank all of the Head Coaches and Coaches for providing yet another fabulous IC. I’d like to thank my fellow Athletes, who assisted me, as well as, toiled, sweated, and laughed side-by-side with me. Finally, to Nikolay, the unsung hero who makes all of this magic possible.
Smiling....
