Since going all organic i have gone on the search for wholesome foods.
Here is a short list of where i get my organic food in Brisbane Australia. Although its mostly on the south side. Sorry North-sider's.

Organic Meat.
------------
Alsop & England Organic Butchers.
Ph: (07) 33974117
297 Old Cleveland Road, Cooparoo QLD 4151.
Open 6 days.

Good prices and good range. Very respected butcher, and they have been in business for years.

For home delivery.

Check out
Organic meat DIRECT.

The prices are Very good... all 100% certified, and freshly prepared for your order delivered directly to your door.
I am about to give these guys a go this week, cause they are cheaper then Alsop, and its a huge drive even for me to get to Cooparoo.

-------------------------------

For organic veg. there are a few local farmers at the local markets, i personally go to the Chandler market on sunday morning..

Every Sunday from 7:00am - 1:00pm in the Chandler Sports Complex. (Sleeman Centre), cnr Old Cleveland & Tilley Rds. A produce/plant growers/craft market with a separate Flea market alongside. 150 stall permanent sites for each market & 50 casual sites. Free onsite parking for 1000 cars, barbeque areas and Olympic size pool in complex. A donation of $1 from adults will go to local school & charities. Enquiries: 0414 606 313 Fax: (07) 3822 5448

For other markets you may have to look around.. ive heard there is a good one in west end on saturdays but ive never been,.,.

Good luck..

Hi Damien,
Yeah, me and the missus used to go to the green flea every week for vegies. Cheap and good. Just too far out for us though. We're moving soon so hopefully we can get back into regular market shopping.

Now, have you had a look at the Northey St farm in the city? It has an organics-only market on sundays. Really lovely produce, lots of hairy people :D. Worth a look for sure.

didnt know about the one in the city.. have to check that one out some time.. went to west end this morning, was pretty good.. lots to choose from.. and got a weeks worth of veg for AU$40 including organic seeds for growing myself. :)and thats allot because i make my own sauce so i buy 2kg + of everything. the council is trying to close it down.. so there is a petition to sign.. they want to condense it to a small area indoors and get it out of the park.. which would not be a good thing.. was hard enough to move as it was.. hundreds of people. Good to have a choice of what day to go though.. sometimes its hard to make it to the markets on a specific day.

Yeah, it's close to the women's hospital. Haven't seen the stadium though.

I love the West End markets. Sadly I'm a sucker for the vegan pies and vegan dagwood dogs from YKILLAMOOCOW.

I felt I should mention that there's only one dedicated organic veg stall (Sunshine Organics I think it's called). Some of the others have organic produce but it's not really very well labelled so if you're into being 100% organic or whatever it's worth being on guard at those markets.

My wife and I both eat quite a lot of organic and free range meat, since we are both Protein types. This can get a tad expensive so in our search to save some money we came across a new organic butcher that deals in bulk as well, which can save quite a bit.
I head down there every other sunday to pick up some great organic and free range bargains.

If you are after large orders, please call it through first, as it can get quite busy in there at times.
