I had the pleasure of working with Geoff Dixon for three hours yesterday afternoon. Geoff is a great athlete and coach. I truly enjoy the relaxed manner that he is able to communicate information and provide verbal and visual feedback. In addition to that, he is just a generally cool dude with a lot of different experiences.
Geoff helped me with a few components of my FlowFit. We started with my limitations on standing back up after performing a spinal rock. He ran me through a couple BMEs and narrowed down my issues to the proper use of selective tension and core activation. Using the tips he gave me, I am confident that I will quickly and incrementally pass the plateau that I have been stuck on.
Then Geoff evaluated my tripod switch. He provided adjustments to my upper body structure and shock absorption, and he worked to improve my core activation and hip drive. After a few minutes of practice, I was able to double the height of my tripod switch!
We then spent a few minutes and talked about Geoff’s thoughts related to FlowFit 1&2 and MMA training, and he has some awesome gems to share… eventually… ;)
After our session, he worked me out with his students, and we went through some light MMA training.
A big thank you goes out to Geoff and his students for having me over. It was a fun and useful day, and it is a pleasure to spend time with such a diverse and talented CST Coach and martial artist. I look forward to my next visit.
