Greetings Fellow Knuckledraggers:
My name is Rick Huse. I am a 56 year old private trainer & V.P./Sales Manager for the largest fitness equipment store in Indiana (Bob Block Fitness). For the last 12 years, my career & life has centered around the fitness industry.
I started weight training & physical conditioning when I was 10 years old and spent my teenage years reading Bob Hoffman's Strength & Health and the old Ironman magazine. I later studied exercise physiology & anatomy and explored almost all of the various fitness trends that occurred during the last 45 years, including bodybuilding, power lifting, martial arts, long distance biking/running and rowing. I was never a star at anything but enjoyed the jounery for its own shake.
I came across Pavel's Power To The People 3 years ago which of course lead to Kettlebells when they first came out and finally went through the RKC training September '03.
Injuries and health conditions have affected my training for the last 3 years. In fact, I wrote an article on the Dragon Door website titled "Injuries...Lemons to Lemonade". Having been influenced by the Nautilus, train to failure credo, I have difficulty with OVERTRAINING even through I know better. I am very careful with my clients in managing their workloads and recovery but I trash my own body by pushing the limits.
I am training for Kettlebell competition (however will not make the Philly meet due to shoulder rehab and a fissure :cry). I decided to try Clubbells for my shoulders but now I attracted to Olympic Clubbell competition as well.
This forum has great energy and I look forward to interacting with the Tribe.
