View Full Version : my plan for Intu-Flow®

Hi everyone,

I just purchased Intu-Flow® and it is scheduled to arrive in a few days!

I'm just wondering if I'm approaching this program properly. Here's some background:

I've been using WW for almost a year now. My program has been a very consistent 3-5 times a week and I have progressed slowly, but with incredible results. I don't think I can say enough about incorporating this into my training, and if someone could direct me to where I could send a written testimonial, that would be awesome!

As I progressed from beginner to intermediate to advanced, I would continue to keep certain movements from the former programs, based on my needs. After I had memorized the advanced program exercise order, I stopped watching the tape and created my own exercise order. Even though I'm technically on the "advanced" program, I still borrow moves from both beginner and intermediate, as well as some others from elsewhere. If I could describe it best, I do what feels right.

My plan for starting Intu-Flow® is to start at the beginner level and try it for two weeks, even if it seems desperately easy. I won't move on until after that. Is this a good idea? I'm not worried that I'll lose my mobility or coordination or anything, but do want confirmation that I'm going about this right!

Thank you so much for any help! Let me know if you need some more info. from me.

John,

That's the same way that I go about my daily IF practice. I worked through the programs long ago (BTW its certainly worth going through, as Intu-Flow introduces some new exercise progressions, refines others, and the presentation is sheer genius because it primes the 7 Key Components for Clubbell swinging ;) ). Now, as I work my way through each joint complex, I draw on my experience and listen to my body, going deeper into some areas, dropping to recovery in others, and ramping up the sophistication where its needed.

As Thomas said, cleaning the slate is an ongoing process. Rather than thinking of it as regression or going backwards ("dropping back" to the Beginner level stuff, in other words), think of it as a spiral. You may revisit exercises or movements, but from a different perspective, higher up on the spiral of your development, and you'll discover something new in them.

The main thing to remember is to follow the top-down inside-out progression. That's one of the keys to the system.

Thanks for your thoughts Thomas and Ryan!

I will keep them in mind when my new daily practice begins!
