View Full Version : mental blueprint distortion of leg position after uttanasana !?!

Hi there,
I just a few weeks ago discovered something interesting.

After I do the Uttanasana pose from the ageless mobility dvd and do the standing reset buttoms - I have the "feeling" that my left foot is maybe about 0.5 - 1 inch "in front" of the right one.

My first question is: Is this a distortion of proprioception ?
I think: yes.

Does this come from heavy compensation? ( residual muscle tension, myofascial density or sensory motor amnesia )

I guess so. Stepping a baby-step deeper into my intuflow each day I become aware of restrictive forces along my whole body - it is amazing.

Has someone come across this phanomenon ?
And is there something besides my CST practive that might help to adjust the proprioception (if my explanation of the nature of the phanomenon is right ) ?

I will do some investigation on that and tell you what I find out more !

!?!:cartwheel:
( I have to put one of these really funny guys here - even if it does not really fit the content - but I love them )

From your post I understand that you are also doing Intu flow.
How long have you been doing Intu flow and at what level did you add
Ageless Mobility to your practice. How have you combined the two.
Thanks
Sorry I couldn't answer your question.

Hello mythmaker -
I would find it nice to know your name - it feels better to talk to someone by saying his name - instead of the username ...

I practice Intu-Flow since last year May. I started with Ageless Mobility 3 months ago, and I vary my daily practice intuitiveley.

From myself I know the "problem" of having so much valuable Rmax resources to choose from that one might get a little dizzy ... and it still happens to me ...

All I can tell you is that I need a certain time (a couple of weeks in my case) to really drop into a field that I want to discover a baby step deeper.

And - to me it seems as if the Intu-flow adventure will never end - it is now after on year that I discover things on a deeper level - and it feels as if I start over again ... sometimes doing beginners movements but they feel very different that a year ago.

So I would say - go where you are most attracted to - and keep an eye on wheather there is a pattern to jump away when it would be good to go one step further in your current programm.

Hope this helped a bit ...
all the best

Yes, realistically pretty much everyone has a bit of SMA hiding out somewhere. If your feet are actually lined up and still feeling like they are not, you are experiencing some sensory motor amnesia, or rather you are noticing the sensation that occurs when you are breaking through it. I've noticed some very strange sensations as I've abated layers of sensory motor amnesias. Like "I know my head is not tilted, but it feels like it is."

Hi Benedikt!
Actually, I really like the precise, detailed way you recount your experience. I think with further description of your practice as you progress, you could contribute and help everyone a lot through your insight!
