View Full Version : Interesting "glitch" in search

Hi,

I'm not trying to kick up a fuss or anything... I absolutely love Intu-Flow® and I'm sure some of the other products available here are valuable.... but there's an interesting glitch in the the search feature that kind of irks me.

When I search for "CrossFit" to find my first post (because I know that I mentioned it in my introduction which is here: http://www.rmaxinternational.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13750)
"The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search : Crossfit"

I thought.... wow, there must be a *lot* of Crossfit conversation here. Just for fun, however, I thought I'd do some test searching with "Kettlebell" (longer than "CrossFit" and presumably common) and "Clubbell®" (shorter than "CrossFit" and presumably very common) to test this "very common", too short or too long thing. No problem. Search worked like a charm.

So, I don't really need, expect, or request a response. I just find it kind of disturbing - in a Utopian censorship kind of way.

I'm not sure why the search function does that exactly, but it's more likely some kind of search "glitch" rather than any kind of "Utopian censorship".

The fact is that while there are in fact a few post mentioning Crossfit in posts from the forum, there are few and far between.

The fact is, that this site is an RMAX/CST site...it's a ompany website. It's a place for those who are interested in, currently training with, or otherwise involved in some manner with RMAX/CST.

It is not an open forum. People often make the mistake that the RMAX forum is a soap box or place to discuss anything under the sun. It isn't.

We appreciate your bringing this search engine thing to our attention, but rest assured it isn't a matter of censorship. There's nothing to censor. While Crossfit has been mentioned it is not a part of or related to CST. CST methodologies, concepts and principles are much different.

For those interested in Crossfit, they have their own websites where they can answer all of the Crossfit related questions and guide people on that path if that's what they are looking for.

The RMAX forum is the place for those who want to know more about RMAX/CST.

Again, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

In future posts, please modify your signature to show your real name. It's the forum policy and it help keep the trolling down and constructive discussion to the max.
