in the interest of finding like-minded training partners to explore RMAX / CST / whatever, i thought we might have a thread where people could publish their location. if you're looking for a partner in your area, then cross your fingers and peruse this thread. maybe keep to the format i've started at the top, to make it easy to scan through the locations. If you get lucky, then just private-message them to set up a meeting. i would think it best to have a separate thread for our Kiwi comrades
oh, and if anyone knows how to set up this connectivity idea graphically, with a world-map and little lights, and hypertext to names/emails, then please help us do it!

We have a small group that gets together whenever we can throughout the week, here at home or at work ( both near Beenleigh) .
One of our guys is down at Mullumbimby at times, Uki at other times, Ipswich at other times, Mareeba at other times and anywhere around Australia at other times. [ He is a Chiro and has been picking a bit of locum (?) work the last couple of years. He was also hoping to come across to the March CST workshop but couldn't because of some of these prior commitments. If things go well, he is hoping to get across there later in the year.]
Cheers :D

Hey Mike,
I'm currently living in Ormeau, about 5 mins from Beenleigh. Where do you guys get together? I've not been introduced to the world of Clubbells, but would love to see some in action.

Please check out "Randell's Saturday Morning Crew Sessions" and do a seach of my past posts as Randell Waddell and the "Mike Baldwin" crew for some ideas of where my/our headspace is.
If you like what we are doing, please get in contact and we will put some real clubbells in your hands, and have you up and running in no time flat - we have some good stuff happening .

Greetings Randell and All,
My name is Aydrean Mckenna and i am presently in Sweden but will be coming to Australia at the end of the year. I will be based in Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast.
I live fairly remote here and besides attending one awesome seminar with General Alexander Retuinskih  i have been working solo with video&book materials from Scott Sonnon and Doug Szolek. Once over there i would love to hook up with some of you guys and do some training/exploring. I see from the map that i will only be 100km from Brisbane so i guess "Randell's Saturday Morning Crew Sessions" will be the first place i'll turn up!
look forward to seeing and meeting you all then.
all the best

Good Morning Aydrean,
Welcome to sunny Australia in a few months.
Re: Saturday Morning Sessions - you may have noted from the different threads on the forum, that I have a whole heap of new projects, several involved in trialling CST with different groups of school aged children. Things have been too busy, and I am considering how to change the format of these and other sessions to free up more time for my own training , being a good Dad and partner to my darling.
However, I will definately make time to "get you up and running" when you (and your darling?) get out here.
Cheers
Randell. :D

Thankyou for your reply Randell,
I have noticed from your most recent posts that you really have a juggling act on your hands  Thankyou for the offer to make time for me, it is most appreciated.
Unfortunately and with great sadness my darling will be unable to accompany me on this little adventure so i will be trying to keep my mind&heart off it with copious amounts of study and training.
Will give you a heads up when i am settled in Paradise.
All the best,

Morning Tim,
Virgin Blue and Jetstar have some very cheap tickets - perhaps consider popping on a flight up to here, or over to Adelaide to train with Matt [ www.isohealth.com.au ] - we can get you off to a big start, and you can decide which areas of RMAX material you would like to "play" with first.
Cheers

Evening Nate,
Just read your intro on the welcome mat - good to have you on board.
Most activity occurs outside on the larger areas of the forum - if you wish to get an RMAX group or whatever happening in Sydney etc, this is where we can help you get it sorted.
Please feel free to contact either Matt Jones over in Adelaide, or myself if you want any specific training - airfares are really low at the moment to easily get around.
Cheers
Randell. :D

Hi Nate,
It was great to chat with you the other day. You definately sound like you have a great attitude towards the exploration of both MA and conditioning/wellness. Ditto on what Randell said re the airfares, training and the fact that most of the action on the forum happens in the other sections (although that might start changing as CST/RMAX becomes more well known in Oz :D ). You'll find lots of great folks on here who'll be more than happy to share a wealth of knowledge.
Have a great day mate,
Matt :D

Hi guys,
I live in Byron Bay, which is in Northern New South Wales. I would be interested to get together with anyone in the close proximity for some training.
I noticed that one of you are in Lismore, which is only a half an house away from me. So if you are keen, let me know.
As for you guys in Brisbane, I am going to put some time aside to come train with you... when is best?

Welcome aboard mate, I hope you find a training partner, it's fun to share your sessions with like minded people.
If you don't mind mate could you please update your signature with your first and last name? It's forum policy and so we have to ensure that everyone keeps up the trend.
Have a terrific weekend, I hope you had a fantastic Australia Day!!!

Hi Gary,
Welcome aboard!
There definately are a few CST'ers in Sydney. Keep looking around the board and also check out our website as our links page has a link to the Mobius lads who are doing what appears to be some great stuff.
I hope you enjoy your journey into CST mate,

hey garry,
i'm on the northern beaches, probably a little far from you.
i have trained once with the mobius guys and they have got some great MMA going on, unfortunately is a little too far away from me to be able to commit to regular training as i have no transport of my own.
what kind of training are you interested in?

Evening Charlie,
I am bringing some of our ratbags from school, down your way in about a month's time ( White Water Canoeing along the lower Mann and then into the Clarance (?) Rivers ).
Where are you based at the moment (Grafton)? Have you commenced teaching yet ? If so, are you interested in some my kids catching up with some of your school kids before we come back to Qld ? (My kids do manage to get themselves into a lot of deep "do-dos", but they are tremendous kids for me.)
Cheers
Randell. :-)

Darryl - I'm down in Coffs Harbour now, so no longer 30 mins away, unfortunately. Let me know if you ever get down this way!
Randell - No, not teaching now until next year, I've gotten sidetracked into part-time Uni while working with teens in drug rehab. So yeah, I understand deep-do-do kids :-). The rafting should be great fun, congrats!

Just adding my info:
I'm in Brisbane.
Just starting the great CST adventure and looking forward to throwing myself into it. Beginning with Prasara and buying myself Intu-Flow for Giftmas. Itching to get some Clubbells too.
Hi Gents
Just found this forum & am keen to try to get together with someone in Brisbane who knows what they're talking about.......and maybe sweat a bit as well :-)
I currently do some k-bell work, but have NO idea about CST or club-bells......

Prenna and Wayne,
Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help you get started.
I'm looking forward to meeting you in April at the CST Qualification Workshop. I also hope to spend a day or two with my family in Brissy.
Hi Scott
Here's a precis of my 'request list' which I e-mailed to the info address & was advised to put onto the forum. Here's as good a place as any I guess to put it up & maybe some of the other denizens of Oz can help out.....??
Quote (from Me...:-)
"My biggest problem at the moment is that there doesn't seem to be much information freely available on the very basic club moves (well, where I could find it anyway.....), as opposed to the large amount available for KB stuff.
I realise this forum discusses queries and obviously has a lot of information, but I (and other newcomers) don't have enough basic knowledge to sort out what is meant. I have managed to find a couple of (very) brief articles on club-bells, which has piqued my interest, but most of what I have found is "claims" of great result etc, rather than information showing how it is done. While this may be a fine distinction, I am somewhat cynical by nature (and by profession...;-).
If you could point me in the direction of some "basic" instruction which I could access to "try before buy" so to speak, I'd be very grateful. I have seen the article "Barbaric Tools" by Mr Sonnen, which is quite informative & just enough to raise my interest (which is probably the intent, I'd imagine...:-).
I've also seen some Indian Club manuals (quite old, but I think still applicable) which are interesting. Is club-bell technique similar (I thought it probably would be, but I think the Club-bells are much heavier...??).
I also liked an article by Coach Sonnen on how to make your own clubs at home to try the techniques out (if only I new what the techniques were......:-) This sort of article is great and makes me want to go out an buy some (speaking of which, do you have anyone in Oz who is affiliated and/or able to supply clubs and manuals?? I'm more into books than DVD's, as I learn better from them - video is good, but I find for me, books are better).
I also don't have a clue on what weight to start on. I'm 41, 176cm, 95 kg (probably 15kg over my "fighting weight"), and don't have heaps of time for exercise for various reasons (which is why I like KBs and also the concept of CB's). I am easily able to do the basic KB moves with a 1-pood KB, and can swing/snatch a 1.5-pood easy enough, but strict pressing with a 1.5 is a bit hard for me. Any ideas or advice on what club I should start with??
Sorry about the big list of questions, but I much prefer going into a plan with my head clear of doubts. Thanks for your time."
end quote....
As stated above, my most pressing issue is I don't know what I don't know.....which as a professional instructor (legislation/procedure/firearms) is really bothering me. I know that there are DVD's & books etc which I can buy, but I'm loath initially to spend lots on something I don't know much about (and SWMBO's would probably kill me for doing it anyway....:-)
Over to you guys......

Wayne,
I'm glad you caught me online. I just finished up an interview with an Australia's New Women Magazine (great gals, really fit). There's a lot of good media coming out Down-Under in the next few months.
Body & Soul will be releasing a 3 page spread demonstrating several core CST exercises. I believe it comes out on DEC29.
Okay, to your questions...
I believe that "seeing is believing but feeling is real" too. I spent last Summer publishing videos of 20 of my personal CST metabolic conditioning circuits, including Clubbell exercises in each: Sonnon Day Conditioning Montages (http://www.rmaxinternational.com/blog/?p=42) That should hold you over for awhile, mate.
A 24kg kettlebell equates to about a 7kg/15lbs Clubbell.
When you have more questions, shoot!
Cheers, mate. I appreciate it.
Talk soon.......
Como, Perth.
Am interested in hooking up occassionally for intu-flow or prasara practice.

I was just coming online to mention this. My housemate always gets the Sunday Mail newspaper but I never read it. This morning it was lying on the dining table so I had a flick through and found the CST piece. It's a great piece that'll definitely build some interest in CST.

G'day all,
I'm on Brisbane's northside, training a small crew at home with a mix of sporting interests (mountain biking, surfing, golf, boxing).
We work with dumbells, Indian clubs, kettlebells, medicine balls, plus the usual boxing circuit bodyweight drills, floor-to-ceiling and pad work.
Discovered Scott through the Sunday Mail article by Damien Kelly last Christmas (it's up on our gym wall)and have been lurking about since. Waiting on an order of goodies from rmax.
Cheers,

Thanks Adam,
The Singapore gig would be awesome (and the wife and kids could hook into the shops and zoo, plus other tourist sites) but 2008 is pretty booked up - time to re-certify my boxing coach credentials, plus I'm booked into an 8 week mountain-bike training course with the Russian coach Nikolai Razouvayev (he actually won the Coupe Du Quebec once, back in your neck of the woods).
So formal CST training is in the pipeline, but a bit further down the track.
Thanks for the welcome,
Cheers,

Actually Hopey, I am going to be giving a ski certification course in Oz this August. :)
But I do love to surf. Although I suck at it just because I am totally landlocked here and only get to surf when on a beach vacation. In fact, I learned to surf in New Zealand. I was coaching skiing down there and at the end of the season we borrowed a van and drove around the North Island with surfboard in tow.
