Hey Coach Szolek,

I had a similar question. I have been using the 15# Clubbells since June of last year and was wondering when to upgrade to the the 20's? Thanks,

Azar

This is largely a question of where you're training goals lie. It is completely possible for one to only use one size clubbell their entire life and maintain continued growth and depth.

Chances are if you've been consistant with your training for the past 9 months then you'd be able to handle the 20s. To be more exact about it, you'll need to look at your training in light of your RT and RPE. If your RT is consistantly climbing and your RPE consistantly droping then it time for you to add to one of the training variables at your disposal: intensity (getting a heavier clubbell), complexity (working more intricate combination routines), volume (training to higher numbers), density (compressing the rest periods throughout the session) and so on...

So analyze your goals and determine for yourself if it's time to increase intensity.

In faith,

Hey Coach Szolek,

Thanks for the reply (sorry it took so long to get back to you). What are RT and RPE? I've increased the volume and decreased the rest times with my 15's and it seems to be working well. I have the Clubbell vid but not the book. Does it go into more detail about how to set training goals and mix things up? I'm not sure how to set training goals with the Clubbells. Thanks again,

Azar

RT= Rate of Technique
RPE= Rate of Percieved Effort
