A couple of months ago I decided to give up on trying to make weight for either GS or OCS comps and simply see where that took me. I was 185 at the time. I announced here a goal of getting to 192 without putting on fat. Since then I have been training mostly for the Tactical Strength Challenge, which is what caught my eye and got me into KBs in the first place.
The event involves doing Pistols holding a 53 lb KB, pullups w/ 53lb KB, and 10 minutes straight Snatches w/ the 53lb KB, you can switch hands at will, but you can't put it down. :twisted:
Training has consisted of pistols, 4 corner balance, pullups ( BW, weighted, rings, assisted 1 arms, muscle ups), snatches, 1 arm pushups, dips, hanging leg raise, jandas, be breathed, and lots of warrior wellness and some stuff Scott showed Maxwell when he was here. Also light CB rom in every plane I can think of.
Diet has been Warrior structure. During the day small feedings of nuts, decaf coffee w/ cream, whey protein w/ mixed EFGA oil, ricotta cheese. Once or twice a week have lunch w/ freinds - shredded chicken and broccoli.
Night Salad, Protien and some good carb either veggie or man's bread, dark chocolate.
Couple of Big choclate chip cookies and 1 pizza a week - try to do that on the same day then really tight the next.
Due to the strength/power nature of the training and some reading taking creatine on a 4 week on 1 week off cycle.
Have weighed over 190 for a few weeks now so I think it's real. Mirror says no fat gain. I see a leveling off at 195 which would be great. Thinking of doing an article in a couple months on combining high tension BW drills and body flow - pictures then.
