I was initially attracted to Bikram because of the heat. I had done Ashtanga before and enjoyed the workout, and because I had to sit in a sauna to cut weight before a competition I figured I could do Bikram to get my body used to the heat and perhaps do it in a more healthy fashion.
Now, I'm not quite so sure. The Hot and Simple thread suggests that the heat can be bad, but Scott says he digs the heat.
Obviously, too much heat is bad, but up to a certain point it's good?
Incidentally, there's a position where the knees are locked out, and I've got a knee injury, so I'm staying away from my second trial class until my knee has fully healed.
What is it that I'd have to look out for to avoid having negative side effects from Bikram? And... would it actually be beneficial for getting used to losing water weight?
