Hello everyone,

Wondering what the compensations are used for in Forward Pressure.

I have an elbow injury and wondering if the compensation may be beneficial to my healing?

They make me think of what a chiropracter may do to help manage an injury.

Input appreciated.

Mark,

I am sorry to have read about your elbow injury. How did this injury happen? Did you have it checked by a medical professional? There are compensative movements listed in the Foward Pressure DVD? Did you see it? Did you mean what kinetic prasara yoga chain will counter balance your foward pressure practice? Recover soon and I hope you are well in the New Year.

Yours Truly,

Honestly, haha, I was out drinking at a bar, and I was doing some breakdancing/flowfit2, and I think thats where I hurt it. Woke up the next day with pain! It's actually feeling better now than when I wrote this post a few hours ago. I have the Forward pressure dvd and their is a compensations section, but i'm not quite sure why to use them.

Mark,

I recommend to wait for your elbow to heal and if possible, go get it check out. In the future, please drink responsibly and don't hurt yourself. The compensative movements in Forward Pressure (FP) serves to balance the tension chains from the practice of FP and to keep your joints and muscle healthy. Don't skip ahead and be in a rush. Follow the FP instructions carefully so you can get the best results possible. Remember true understanding comes after the practice and not before..
