Tribe,

We just received the word that no more than 50 Clubbell athletes will be eligible to compete at the 2004 Mr. Olympia Clubbell Championship in Los Vegas in October.

You must qualify before competing to ensure that you've experienced the platform at least once before the event. This means you must either submit your performance by video no later than July 31st to:

Mr. Olympia Clubbell Championships Qualifier
in c/o RMAX.tv Productions West Coast
PO BOX 5981
Bellingham, WA
98227-5981

The sooner you do, the better. I suggest you test yourself immediately so that you may even have free coaching guidance on your competitive technique. I shall be abroad this Summer, so the coaching staff will be available for your questions.

This will be a significant event, the first of its size since the 1932 Olympic Games, spectated by thousands and televised to millions.

Don't even consider competing unless you begin to prepare now.

Coach Sonnon,

I am interested in participating in the OCS competition, but I'm afraid I don't quite understand your post.

You wrote that "you must either submit your performance by video...." but then there is no second possibility such as, "or, you must ...."

Could you elaborate a bit more on the qualification requirements? You say that you must have "experienced the platform;" does this mean there will be regional events? If the qualification is by video, what are the requirements as far as reps and time?

Thanks,

Justin,

Sorry.

... OR you must get together with no less than 2 other athletes, organize a date, schedule it and compete that day, and post your results to the forum.

What we expect is that you've tasted performance anxiety, and the host of discoveries which come from arriving at a new venue to perform at a predetermined specific date and time... and the accountability of having to post your numbers publicly.

We don't care how many numbers you can put on the board. What matters is that you DO.

These very flexible qualifications will obviously change dramatically in the future, as state and regional qualifiers become mandatory as the athletic pool increases.

OK, thanks Coach. I've been doing preliminary training and would love to get together with other participants to do a trial event.

Would the July 31st deadline apply to the trial event as well as the video submission?

Thanks,
