I currently use a bike for an 11 mile commute. I would like to look into alternative modes of self-propelled transportation.

Anything out there that is more in keeping with a health first goal???

I saw the TRIKKE (http://www.trikke.com/home.php) and it looked interesting, but I see that some in the past have noted that it was also causing some issues with shoulder and back tightness - I know that will be true for anything you choose, but I'm would imagine that some are better than others.

Thanks,

i think if you just stand upright on the thing, you will be golden. it looks like a cst dream machine of endurance flow.

11 miles is probably a bit far, but just to try it once would be entertaining. i'll try to come up with some serious suggestions as well.

My thoughts exactly regarding the flow aspect of it, but you you'd never know for sure until you try it. A couple of the guys in the forum commented that once you fatigue and loose the "flow" it's a bear to keep moving.

I may end up taking Jeanne's advice and get a recumbent. When it comes to efficiency the bike is hard to beat.

Thanks for the input Mark, looking forward to your discoveries.
