Just wanted to say its a shame that the Rmax forum posts have been 'splintered' across other blogs. I miss the days when a cool post or article resulted in some great debates and banter that could go on on for days over just one post. Now that those cool posts and articles are being posted in 'off site' blogs the ensuing debates don't seem to happen, and that "sense of community" has been lost. The info and the articles on the blogs are excellent, its just a shame that there is no debate and follow up anymore, that's all. Perhaps the 'community' has moved over to the SSCC, and thats where the action is - it does look very cool. Anyway, thats just my feelings, maybe I just have too much time on my hands, lol... cheers.

Hi Nick,
Thanks for posting that. It is a good point in some ways. But although some of the material that is being produced by RMAX community members is being delivered on other "channels," there is almost always a post here on the boards announcing where it can be found.
I think the solution is to post reflections, questions, comments and discussion points right into the "announcement" thread. As soon as one person starts doing it, more will follow. I, for one, would love for people to comment on the stuff I am putting out at the moment. I want to know what people think, what they do and don't understand or like and what they would like to see more of!
Cheers,
Adam

NIck,
I think Adam makes a good suggestion. In addition, feel free to start a new thread on the topics that 'come up' for you as a result of the original post.
Thanks for caring and jumping in.

Nick,
I guess the "good news" is that it's a little easier keeping up with the Forum these days, but navigating to and keeping up with those other sites can be hard to make time for, which probably means I'm missing some good material and comments. (The "good news" there is if you post something in Announcements", I'll be sure to read it! :))

There has been a slow down in the discussion as of late but I see it a little differently. Coach Sonnons always been more of a teach a man to fish than give a man a fish type. He has been helping us all learn to train ourselves instead of relying on him for our training. As such when a new idea come out or a new blog comes up were all more apt to take it into our own mental labs and figure it out before we drop much around here. This community is maturing I think. While the posts have decreased I feel the quality of them has in general increased a great deal.

I second that Brian.
In the past there were often debates on mundane details and I remember plenty of the debates questioning the CST method, etc.
Nowadays every post seems to either be a genuine question, which is usually skillfully and completely answered quickly by the huge number of great Coaches and instructors hanging around now..... or it is an information post sharing some new insight.

thanks for the posts, guys. Just to clarify my original point - it was a comment about the fact that posts and discussions (whether they are slow or not) are getting scattered across the web and as a result the 'community' is scattered and diluted.

Nick,
Please give details and/or examples?

Paul, the most obvious one is this one:
http://www.rmaxinternational.com/flowcoach/
There are more 'discussions' taking place there than here.
But there are others run by other coaches. They are all cool and useful, its just that when I come across them I think to myself..man, why don't you post those articles and thoughts on the Rmax forums, and keep the cohesiveness alive over there, as well as generate more feedback and debate as a follow up tp the article?
But, hey, its just my opinion, just one guy on the shop floor if you like. More power to whatever people want to do.

Nick,
The Flow Coach is just an extension of this forum. It is great that CST is reaching out to touch others that may not be drawn here. Does not Coach Sonnon cross posts here?
As for other CST coaches and instructors starting blogs of their own… well that’s just growth! Many of these Coaches, like Coach Steer cross post here.
I will leave you with this paraphrasing of an old Chinese story: My skills are little and widely known; my elder brother’s skills are many and known only locally, and my eldest brother’s skills are great and known only within the family.
Would you keep CST only within the family on this forum?

Nick,
I appreciate the place you're coming from with your conversation.
Since change and growth are guarantees in life, instead of lamenting an old iteration, consider this positive reframe:
Take a topic from the various blogs and start a conversation here, even if it may be redundant to another conversation somewhere "else." Just look what you accomplished when you took action and started this conversation.
I really like Paul's proverb. I'd sacrifice many skills to help more people with only a few skills, even if only one.

Nick,
I know exactly what you mean, I've kind of felt the same way lately too. But I have found over the years, that this forum, like everything else in life is cyclic. I am sure the pendulum will swing back the other way real soon :D .

nick i agree with your point but it may sound silly but i seem to be training more with this new approach as i am not getting as confused with the details and trying the principals more to find my own answer than looking for everyone elses

Nick and Rmax,
Nick, I agree with you whole heartedly. You get emails about articles on a blog. Before the articles were on the forum and members shared ideas, methods, and experiences in one central location. Now Rmax has an "inner circle" similiar to Matt Furey. People I have referred to this forum and purchased Rmax products have expressed disappointment too. This is not meant to slam RMAX but it was more of a community back in the not to long ago day. NICK thanks for stepping up to the plate to say what many feel. Rmax still produces great stuff but it doesn't feel like family any more.
Thanks,
Steve

I understand where you guys are coming from, and sometimes I too miss the "good ol' days." The down side of those days was the difficulty of seeing pics/vid clips posted with the text unless it was rewritten as an article and published in CST Mag. With the new blogs, we have more places to find info, but that info is generally better illustrated and more completely presented.
CST Mag is still one of the best "catch-all" places to look for quality CST info, but the blogs are updated more frequently and often contain nuggets that don't always make it into the mag. I admire those who can keep a blog going consistently, and sometimes think of adding my own to the mix... ;)
I love it when people bring their thoughts and questions to the RMAX forums. While it's less freewheeling than it used to be, it's still a great dynamic resource for anyone that wants more in-depth discussion on anything CST-related.

Maybe there is an opportunity here that we are all missing. Maybe that opportunity is for those of "us" who have been around for a while and remember the "good ol' days" to step up to the plate and keep that sense of community going, instead of relying on someone else to do it for us. I know I am as guilty as anyone else for being too shy to post, figuring that if I had a question, I am sure someone else did too, and it would eventually get asked.
Even if not a Coach or Instructor, EVERYONE has something of value to add to this community. It's just that "only" Coaches/Instructors can offer specific training advice or officially answer certain CST Training questions. However, I believe everyone is entitled to speak of their own training experiences in particular situations.
Coach Sonnon used to speak of when he firsted started this tribe/community, that it was to be modeled on the philosophy of "Give Support, Get Support." Let's not forget that the first part of that is to "Give Support." (Again, not pointing the finger to anyone else but myself here.)
Just my two cents.
