Hi there,
I recently purchased a two-dvd set dvd titled "Le Tombak" by Madjid Khaladj who is a reknown persian drummer. The second dvd of the set has a documentary on drum building. Included in this documentary is great footage of an Iranian gymnasium called a Zurkaneh (literally "The House of Strength"). It shows athletes swinging clubs in time to the drums. There is a discussion of the connection between the martial sport, music, and spirituality.
