As many of you know, Andrei Arlovski, managed by RMAX's Nikolay Travkin, fought this evening at UFC47. At MMAWeekly.com's interview, Arlovski spoke briefly regarding his month of training using Clubbells to prepare for his fight. He won in a great display of skill, strength and confidence, and proved without a doubt that Clubbells and NHB make a winning combo.

Here's the play by play:

Round One

Mario Yamasaki starts off the action with both fighters touching gloves. Arlovski lands a leg kick and moves back while bouncing around. Cabbage standing still and not moving much while Arlovski is moving around on the balls of his feet. Arlovski moves forward and lands a punch to Cabbage’s body. Cabbage backs up and Arlovski lands a leg kick and Cabbage counters with a punch that lands. Arlovski throws a punch that Cabbage ducks under and both fighters circle one another.

Arlovski throws a one two and the jab lands but the right hand misses. Three minutes in a half left and Arlovski lands a right hand. Cabbage backs up and Arlovski throws another right hand that is blocked. Arlovski still bouncing around and Cabbage misses with a jab. Under three minutes left with Cabbage missing a leg kick. Arlovski lands a right hand and then puts together two more punches that land. Arlovski lands another big right hand and Cabbage slumps over and catches himself from falling down, obviously rocked.

Two minutes and twenty seconds left and Cabbage misses with a kick. Arlovski lands a leg kick and continues bouncing around while Cabbage remains stationary. Arlovski lands two huge rights in a row that pushes Cabbage back to the fence and Arlovski lands a nice uppercut. Cabbage counters with punches but misses as Arlovski backs up. Arlovski lands another inside leg kick and Cabbage misses with a jab. A cut has emerged over Cabbage’s ear from the last exchange near the fence.

Arlovski comes in and lands a nice jab and right hand and then a huge head kick and Cabbage still standing. Arlovski moves forward again and lands a nice knee. Cabbage misses badly with a left hook. Arlovski continues to move in and out while Cabbage standing still. Time expires in the round as Cabbage lands a counter jab and Arlovski misses with a right hand.

Round Two

The second round begins late as there is plenty of ice thrown on the floor near Cabbages corner and has to be wiped up. The second round finally begins with Cabbage moving forward and Arlovski bouncing around. Arlovski lands a nice inside kick, with Cabbage missing a counter kick. Cabbage misses with a jab. Arlovski lands another inside leg kick and Cabbage misses with a counter hook. One minute into the round with Cabbage missing another punch and Arlovksi closing the distance and landing a huge punch and knee. Arlovski explodes and lands four straight punches in a row! Arlovski lands a huge jab, straight right, and short left uppercut combo and knocks Cabbage down! Yamasaki comes in and stops the fight, and a bloody Cabbage does not protest the stoppage.

This is a huge win for Andrei. Congratulations for your excellent performance!

Although I thought Mario stopped it early, it was not going to get any better for Cabbage...only worse.

Great win for Andrei!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations to Arlovski; aside from his obvious talents, he was clearly well-trained and confident.

Is his clubbell training routine archived anywhere? I looked around but couldn't find it.

Thanks,

Justin,

It's not currently published. One wouldn't want fight prep available for competitors to see. However, we'll have Andrei comment on his Clubbell training here in the near future.

For those of you who were not aware, Andrei was slated for the title fight. However, Tim Sylvia was busted for steroids so he was removed from fighting Arlovski. A very gamey Cabbage fought Arlovski in his place.

Ah, good point.

I look forward to seeing Arlovski fight for the title in the near future. It is hard to see anybody in the UFC Heavyweight division stopping him.

I said near the end of the first round that Cababge was going to get knocked out, Arlovski was landing too amny combos for anyone to stand that kind of abuse.

Arlovski will be the champ, no doubt, he moved like a welteweight and hit harder than the current crop of heavy weights

Congratulations to Andrei,

I hope Sylvia watched that fight closely. If he thinks he is going to walk in and beat the next guy he faces he better hope it is not Andrei or he is in for a rude awakening.

I think they will have to bring in some better fighters for Andrei. Maybe some of the heavyweights who fight in pride.

Best of luck to Andrei and to Cabbage they are both great competitors.
Peace
Rich

Dear Friends,

Thank you for all good words and congratulations!

I told Andrei that he has many fans at the CST Discussion Forum. He asked me on his behalf to say "Hello" to the tribe, and "Thank you" for supporting him. He thanks personally Coach Sonnon for his training programs and RMAX.tv Productions crew for making Clubbell Equipment available. He used Clubbells in his preparation for this UFC fight and loved them a lot.

"Arlovski trains with Clubbells for conditioning “I incorporated Clubbells in my training,” he said, “they are great! Training with Clubbells helps me to prepare for this title fight.” - this is from Andrei's interview for ADCC news (for the whole interview "Andrei Arlovski: On His Way to the UFC Heavyweight Championship!
