Anybody tried this?

All you have to do is eat half a grapefruit with every meal.

It works by stopping you getting a big insulin rush after eating and it also aids in the conversion of food to energy.

I've been trying for about a month and i've lost half a stone and put 20kg on my bench press.

And of course everyone knows the benefits of eating fruit everyday.

OK, Ed, I'm assuming this isn't a time-delayed April Fool's joke. :D

Could you get into the biochemistry behind this a little? I remember from your previous post (raw meat and citric acid cycles inthe body) that you have a deep background in nutrition. I have enough layman's knowledge of nutrition (more than Ori Hofmekler :wink: but less than Bill Fox) to be dangerous, but I did start out as a chemical engineering major in college, so my chemistry is still pretty good.

If it's true, it's an interesting idea. Plus, I love grapefruit!

Sorry man, this is the first thread I have started, I just joined today lol.

Is their someone else called risingsun on here?

I don't have the article out in front of me so I can't tell about the chemistry behind it except that I remember it saying it also stops toxins from being broken down in the stomach thus increasing the potency of any drug taken.

That's why I didn't delete it. There are those 10-15 years uot of touch with nutrtional research that see this kind of thing and wonder. Let's end this thread by saying the grapefruit diet is total crap, a nutrtional nightmare for any athlete, and move on.

Do some internet research on the Paleo diet, The NHE diet (extique.com), the Warrior diet, the Athlete's zone.
