Some of you may like to trial a variation on the Armpit Cast and Shoulder Cast that I have found useful for bringing up to speed the coordination and strength in the non-dominant shoulder for exercises like the Mill.
When one executes the Armpit Cast, the clubbell tracks forward and perpendicular to the torso. When one executes the Shoulder Cast, the clubbell tracks out sidewards in line with the shoulder. When executing "Joshua's Six-shooters", all angles between the afore mentioned casts may be tracked, as well as also tracking over toward one's centre line to about 60 degrees inwards from the Armpit cast.
These casts can be done with a single clubbell or using double clubbells. Using double clubbells gets interesting as they can be moved symmetrically about the Sagittal Plane, done as Parallels as they both track in the same direction, or as a Drumming type approach where the right clubbell may be held in some position whilst the left clubbell tracks several times before it is reintroduced to the mix etc.
[ Inspiration for Name: My young son Joshua saw his first John Wayne movie just prior to my US visit. He was charging off around the back yard, shooting at "baddies" left and right in wild abandon with his six-shooters, raising them up to shoulder height after the kickback, then again dropping them in a new direction, picking off the next villian silly enough to pop his head up when my son was around. He was having a great all time !!!!!!]
I showed these to Fish, Dan and Doug amongst others, so if this description proves inadequate, perhaps they could post a bit of footage if anyone feels this would be benefiticial
Cheers
