OK, here are my thoughts on the most recent CST:

If you are thinking about attending this course, you definitely need to be familiar with Scott's other training materials. Be Breathed, Maximology, and the Clubbell video are a MUST WATCH before attending. If you're not familiar with his other material, you'll probably be playing a bit of catch-up with a lot of the training ideas covered.

I think one of the best parts of the course was the ability to really get some fine-tuning on a lot of these Clubbell techniques. For a few of the people there, they were surprised that they had been using incorrect form for quite some time and with a few simple corrections they were able to lower the perceived intensity of the exercise and proceed past sticking points to further sophistication of technique.

It was also great to learn some of the more advanced exercises with the Clubbells. I said it before: For those of you that think Clubbells are just for upper-body training, you are seriously mistaken. My legs haven't gotten a beating like that in a very long time and it was awesome!

While I was at the course, I brought up my own ideas of combining High Intensity Interval Training using Bodyweight Exercises with Clubbell exercises. My training (which is almost exclusively my classes) definitely helped when we did 2 5-minute "pre-Olympic Clubbell Sport Competition" test rounds on the last day of the seminar. Although I had completed the required GPP entrance exam, I hadn't even thought about doing Swipes or Mills for 5 straight minutes. Using the 15's however, I was able to achieve the most reps combined and that would have qualified me for Master of Sport Candidate in last years competition.

I knocked out 110 Swipes in 5 minutes and 70 Mills with each arm in 5 minutes. To say that my body was BEATEN DOWN after those two tests is an understatement but it was definitely a test of one's mettle and everyone passed with flying colors.

Of course, there was some good natured smack-talk among the participants about who was going to be the bigger stud at the next OCS. I think it's going to be an amazing showing!

It was also great to talk with Scott since I've gotten home and hear him talk about integrating some of my training ideas with his instructor cadre living in Washington. Scott's always been a good friend and an amazing coach who's not afraid to push the limits with himself so I know those guys are in for a serious thrashing! hahaha!

All in all, this course opened my eyes to so many new things that I almost feel overwhelmed. Fortunately, the CST forum is available and I can run my training ideas through the guys that are at the top of the food chain. If you have the funds to invest in Clubbells, I can't recommend it enough. If you want to take your training to the next level, or want to integrate Clubbells into your training business, you should seriously consider attending the CST.

Keep training hard,
