I had the great honor of meeting and listening to Jack Lalanne today. He is 92 years on the planet.
I must admit that it was far more impact-ful than I thought it would be. He was clear in his eyes, soft in his words and direct in his speech.
I loved his forthright manner of addressing the audience. Here are a few paraphrases:
"Who puts the food in your mouth? You do. No one forces to eat this or that. What you eat today is walking and talking tomorrow."
"Anything is possible, anything. At my first health seminar (when I was 16 and weak and sickly) the speaker (Dr. Paul Bragg) told us, "if you follow nature's laws you can be 'reborn'. I have lived under nature's laws since that day."
"The most important person in the world is YOU. Without you, nothing else really matters. Your body is the most powerful and wonderful machine you will ever own. Put the best possible things into it."
"Exercise is King, nutrition is Queen - together you have a kingdom."
I'm not absolutely sure why, but walking to my car afterward, I had myself a cry.
