Today I did my first Shield Cast (no choke) with the 25lb Clubbell. Several months back I purchased the 25. I bypassed the 20, which was a big mistake. My grip strength was not up to the task at hand.
I then got pair of 20lb Clubbells and very seldom touched the 25lb big boy club. I have been working with the 25 quite a bit for the last 2 months and progress has been fast. At the end of the day of GTG type training with the armpits cast, basic arm swing, clean to order practice, I knocked of my first ever shield cast. I cant wait to try it again when I am fresh at the start of a workout. It will be time for a second 25 in a few weeks. The 45lb Clubbell will be coming soon.
BTW, I love how the 25lb club seems to involve more muscle in the mid back and abs.
